pasta!!!
pasta is always easy and looks more impressive than it really is
gnocchi is a good choice as most people haven't tried it before.
gnocchi is (usually) a fat potato pasta.
it's easy to cook. throw the gnocchi in boiling water. when the gnocchi rises it's ready to eat.
i usually use it with a small amount of arabbiato (spicy) tomato sauce + a good amount of **good** olive oil + grating of parmesan.
you can serve some garlic bread on the side with dinner
and bread + dip before dinner.
dip = either olive oil + balsamic vinegar or olive oil + olive spread + olives in a seperate small dish.
after dinner. you can server dessert.
banana + nutella + vanilla icecream. delicious ;)

Make a simple dinner and serve them as if they were in a restaurant. Set up the table by putting a tablecloth down, making a nice centerpiece. Let them know also that they will be served. Pour them glasses of wine and serve them this Italian salad http://www.recipezaar.com/184195. For the main course serve a store bought prepared roasted chicken with green bean salad http://www.recipezaar.com/15878, and oven roasted Greek potatoes http://www.recipezaar.com/87782. For dessert prepare crepes http://www.recipezaar.com/18410! Make them look beautiful such as the picture on the link. Roll them with this strawberries and cream mixture http://www.recipezaar.com/18931. By buying a simple roast chicken, you have more time to focus on making the veggies and dessert especially remarkable.
If you would prefer to make a main dish, this baked chicken breast is outstanding! http://www.recipezaar.com/82102
Another super easy, delicious dessert is this (if you would prefer something chocolate) and this makes just two servings so less worry!
Tiramisu for Two
12 vanilla wafers
2 tablespoons hot water
1 teaspoon instant coffee
2 (4 ounce) packages prepared vanilla pudding (pudding snacks)
1/4 cup thawed whipped topping
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
Crush wafers coarsely into 2 dessert dishes (wine glasses make it look fancier and more romantic). Stir hot water into coffee granules; drizzle over wafers. Top each with contents of 1 pudding snack, whipped topping and cocoa powder. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Enjoy!
