i used this bread pudding recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups milk
3 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 slices white bread, without crust
1 teaspoon cinnamon
dash nutmeg
1/2 cup raisins, optional
PREPARATION:
Heat milk over low heat until hot, but not boiling. In a bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and salt; stir well. Gradually stir about 1/4 of the hot milk to the egg mixture and stir in. Add remaining milk, stirring constantly.
Stir in vanilla.
Place bread slices in a buttered baking dish, (sprinkle raisins over bread, if used), about 2-quart size. Pour the milk mixture over bread. Combine cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle over pudding mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 300° for about 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm with vanilla sauce or other dessert sauce, if desired.
Serves 6.

ok i'm 16 and mostly my brother does the cooking. My mom used to do all the cooking but she passed away 2 years ago and my dad is an asshole who doesn't cook or do anything. So my brother is going off to college so I need to learn some quick easy and cheap meals fast so anyone have any suggestions? P.S.-My dad does not give money for food so thankfully I get disablilty checks, but i don't want to spend to much of them because I need to save up for college and a car. So I guess i want to work about 200$ every 3-4 weeks

I want to make some red currant jelly (I originally wanted to make Jam, but my grandmother has already tried it and said it was just seeds and not very delicious), but I don't think we have any jelly specific jars. Can I use heavy duty tuberware to hold the jelly? Plus, how much is considered a "serving" when you make Jelly? And also, I have a family of 4, so how many servings should I make?....Oh, and any tips for making Jelly?

I am making a cake today for my son's birthday and am making homemade buttercream icing. Come to find out I am short on powdered sugar. So I added marshmallow fluff and cream cheese to it to give it some consistancy. Not thinking before I did it, that marshmalow fluff has corn syrup in it, I had the opposite effect happen and it only went thinnner.

So I was wondering if I could use flour or cornstarch to thicken up the icing at least so it would stay on the cake and not totally run off....without making it taste like flour?

For some reason I can never grill the perfect burger if I make them with fresh/handmade ground beef patties. I have no problem with frozen patties, steak, or chicken -- but for some reason fresh ground beef patties are a challenge.

I usually end up over cooking them, or they break-up and fall between the slats.

Thanks!

I am mixing together
plain yogurt, lemon, tarrogon, basil, white wine, garlic, and shallots.
If I am making this for dinner should I make the yogurt now so it will be flavorful or will it over power. Just starting to use fresh herbs. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks
