if a recipe calls for oil and you dont have any, can you use margarine instead?

Yes. But what are you making? If you are making a cake from scratch you may subtitute margarine or butter. But oils (crisco, lard etc.) provides a more tender cake and cookie. But the taste will still be wonderful.

It's not a dumb question. It depends a lot on what you are making. Most margarines contain a fair amount of water, so it's not interchangeable across the board.

That depends on the recipe - margarine will work for cake and baking applications and even in small amounts for soups and frying (it will effect the flavor) It will not work for deep frying and high temp applications like stir fry. Good Luck!

If you have been riding english then western will be a lot different especially if you were only paddock boots with jeans. If you normally ride in breeched with paddocks and half chaps or tall boots, then i would suggest wearing jeans paddocks and half chaps. In my opinion you wont look dumb at all especially since you are just trying a horse not at a show or clinic. You just want to make sure you are comfortable. :] I hope i helped!!

yes, just watch it Margarine burns the foods you fry quicker.

yes, just melt the marg until you get the right amount but let it cool before you add it to your ingredients. there are no stupid questions .you cant learn if you dont ask. dont you just love this website!

thats not a dumb question, its actually a very good question. yes, you can use other ingredients instead, i think you can use butter, but im not sure.
