It was made with either fat free milk or powdered milk and egg beaters (substitute eggs) It had to be scalded on the stove with other ingredients, then cooled and served with nutmeg and whipped cream. really delicious! did anyone happen to clip the same recipe, as I lost mine? PS: There's a possibility that skim evaporated milk was used. I just can't remember. Please help!

Perhaps this is a classic old wive's tale...but I've had a number of people say for the best tasting recipes (i.e. baked goods and sauces) use a wooden spoon above all others. Any truth to this?

I tried to make a Flan yesterday and it turned out ok, but it doesn't taste like the ones my husband grew up eating in Belgium....the bottom wasn't quite right and it was pretty runny on top. I've been unable to find a recipe from Belgium for Flan...HELP!

I am going to pan sear the filets first, then broil them in my broiler. I have a regular whirlpool oven, with the broiler "drawer" underneath. How do I use it? I know how to turn it on, but am I right that the regular oven remains off? Do I use a baking pan or just foil? Do I cover the steak with foil? I never did this before, any tips would be great. Do I flip the steaks and do both sides or it is hot enough to cook through?

I would like to buy Ravioli Wrappers...I looked EVERYWHERE for these.
Similar to the Wonton Wrappers sols in Asian Markets. I know that these can be used for Ravioli but I think they are an inferior subsitute.
I have seen sheets of Pasta sold in Italian markets that can either be used for Lasagne or Ravioli but again I am not looking for Sheets I am looking for pre-cut packaged Ravioli Wrappers.

Please don't answer this with a recipe for Ravioli dough because that is NOT my question.

Hi,

I'm making some hash brown potatoes for a new year's brunch. I'm trying to decide whether to peel them or not. I was thinking they could be good with the skin on. What do people think?

I need ideas for a new years dinner for my husband. I'll tell you the basics of what I have.
Tri-tip steak or Boneless chuck Roast
canned veggies or corn on the cob
rice, potatoes and noodles
I want something CHEAP but semi elegant.
I can go to the store if need be, but I want to try and use what I have.
