Chocolate or M&M Chip Cookies

Preheat oven to 350º

Put in mixer and blend:
2/3 cup Margarine
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup sugar
Add and keep mixing (just leave the mixer on as you add stuff – the more blended the better)
2 eggs
Add and keep mixing
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
Add and keep mixing
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
Add and stir in
12 oz chocolate chips or M&Ms

Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets, and bake for 8-9 minutes. The cookies should not look brown at all, but should look barely cooked.
Cool on countertop. You should have to tilt the cookie sheet to remove with spatula. That’s how limp they should be.
Makes about 4-5 dozen.

2 and 1/4 cup flour, 3/4 c. brown sugar, 3/4 c. white or cane sugar, 2 sticks of butter (melt in microwave or leave out for a few hours to soften), 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 eggs, choc. chips or candy of your choice or nuts, etc. This is your basic toll house cookie dough.
In a large bowl, mix sugars, and butter and eggs and vanilla together, blending till it looks like liquid or soft caramel. Add the flour and the baking soda. Blend into dough, add Choc. chips, or M&M's, or nuts, whatever you like. You can even add Heath toffee bits to the M&M's mixture (about a half cup) for a toffee twist on this recipe.
Using a teaspoonful at at time, roll the teaspoonful of dough into a ball roughly 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches wide and place on floured (not greased) cookie sheet, bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Do preheat oven ahead of time. Allow to cool on plate or cookie rack or clean cutting board. Store in any fairly airtight container. Enjoy and Happy New Year!!!
