I love to cook and make things, and my family has garage sales frequently (we accumulate alot of junk!) I'd like to make a little money of my own, but I don't know what would be easy to make alot of. Oh, and how should I set stuff out? There's usually no extra room on the tables that we put everything else on. I would appreciate some recipes, as well as ideas. (I'm a "kid", but I'm old enough and perfectly capable enough to cook practicly anything by myself, and I always have help available.)

I'm making a pumkin pie (now) and if I want to make leaf cutouts out of pie dough for a decoration on top of the pie, when do I put them on the pie? After a while or now while it's baking? I'm putting the pie in the oven now, so I need your answers quickly!!

After seeing a recent Marth Stewart recipe I went to Wal-Mart to buy the ingredients, one of which was heavy cream. This is what we call whipping cream in the UK. But, at Wal-Mart nobody knew what I was talking about and told me that they only had cream cheese or sour cream. I figured that sour cream wouldn't be a good idea, since the recipe is for scalloped potatoes.
In the end they suggested Cool Whip, a frozen cream-substitute. Will it be OK to use this in place of the heavy cream?

I loved the recipe, but can't find it anywhere. You used the cake mix to make the bottom crust and then melted chocolate chips over it and then put the frosting and more chips on - but I don't remember the recipe exactly (temps, other ingredients, etc.) Can anyone help? It used to be on the side of the Pillsbury German Chocolate mix box.

I just finished watching the program and did not write the recipe.
Does anyone have her recipe for the dish?
If you can also include the recipe for the rice I will thank you even more.
Thanks in advance.

I will be starting my culinary labs this Spring. I need to purchase my knives very soon and I am not sure what kind to buy. I will probably mix and match my set, but I am not sure what brand to lean towards. The sous-chef at work suggested Forschner and I use them at work, so I am pretty used to the way they feel. I like the way the Global chef knife feels in my hand, but have heard that they can be fragile.

Does any one out there have suggestions about knives? Or even a website that gives pretty good comparisons or even customer reviews about knives?

Thanks!

I've searched every website I can think of looking for a recipe. I've googled it. I know there has to be one,. A former co-worker's sister made some, but she refuses to share the recipe. I know she used Eaglebrand condensed milk, and there was meringue on top.

I bought an 8 ounce container of this cheese product (on sale...with a coupon...for like pennies :-) and it's about at the expiration date so I need to use it this week. I don't want to eat it on crackers or as a spread. What else can I do with it? Looking for a recipe or two please...not a cheese ball or appetizer but a main dish if I could find it. I was kind of thinking something like a cheesy-noodle/pasta-chicken thing but I'm open to ideas. It's a white cheddar-like 'cheese' with flecks of dried vegetables in it.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!!

Sure there's mashed and baked and fried, but everyone does them differently. What are some of your favorites? What do you like to add on top or eat with them? I'm looking for some new ideas!

Asker’s Thosai/Dosai keeps getting stuck to the pan. Kindly provide details as to how to avoid this.

Perhaps too much water in the mix or the mix not sufficiently settled ?

What would you use to make a paste and how long would it need to stand ?

- In what proportions are these required
- Is something amiss
- Should the hassle be saved and simply buying the paste ready made

From what could be deduced:

Roasted peanuts, Cashew
Chilli powder
Salt and sugar to taste
Tamarind juice
Jaggery, powdered and small pieces
Milk or yoghurt
Onion slices
