I love to cook and make things, and my family has garage sales frequently (we accumulate alot of junk!) I'd like to make a little money of my own, but I don't know what would be easy to make alot of. Oh, and how should I set stuff out? There's usually no extra room on the tables that we put everything else on. I would appreciate some recipes, as well as ideas. (I'm a "kid", but I'm old enough and perfectly capable enough to cook practicly anything by myself, and I always have help available.)

Y'all have got some good ideas for foods so far, but please; my biggest trouble is setting stuff out; how can I make a makeshift stand or table? Any ideas?

Sandwiches, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, hot cocoa, koolaid (shopping makes you thirsty!), banana bread, fudge, homemade lollipops

For a table, get some 2x4's or peices of scrap wood and place them over some cinder-blocks or big rocks or something like that. Heck, even chairs work in a pinch. Cover that with a cheap plastic tablecloth. Punch holes in the corners of the cloth and tie the corners to the cinder-blocks to keep the cloth from flying away. There ya go - instant table. =)

Good luck and have fun! :D

Most garage sale visitors are usually looking for particular items, but not usually food. Some folks might take you up on the prospect, but I would think most would not. If I had a choice over what I would eat from a garage sale, I would have to say something finger-food oriented, like chicken wings, egg rolls, or bbq meatballs.

As a kid, I can recall doing quite well selling vegetables from our garden on the side of the road, but then again that was 30 years ago. The authorities these days have ways of making the entrepreneur in you wilt, depending on the area in which you live. We wouldn't want to encourage the next Wolfgang Puck or Marie Callender would we?

Well you know spaghetti is pretty easy to cook and you could make a lot of it fairly cheap. Noodles are really cheap so whatever you don't use you can just toss. And any leftover sauce can be frozen for later. And cookies are always a good way to go also. I wish you luck.

I live in a large housing community for a company, we have annual community garage sales.. they always have a food table..
coffee, soda, bottled water, juice boxes, rice crispy treats, cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar, and oatmeal goes well), muffins of all sorts, brownies, and tea sandwiches like cheese (no meats or eggs) they also sell savory tidbits like cheese balls (made with bread/cheese) or other savory pick up tidbits...

Rice crispy treats--oh so easy to make and everybody loves them. Also hot dogs are easy to do. Just put a crock pot on a table to keep them warm in the water.
