I just got my first turkey fryer last year at xmas and used it this Thanksgiving. The instructions told me how long per pound to cook and what temperature it should be at. That was for a whole turkey. Look at your instructions first, then follow the rule that all poultry should be at 185 to be safe and get you a meat thermometer, test after 30 minutes, then every 5 after that to be safe.
