Besides french fries, does anyone have any good suggestions for side dishes that go well with fish? I'm cooking fish tonight and would like a good meal, something different from french fries. Thanks everyone!

Ok, so this sounds so dumb, but I cant figure out what I did wrong...

I've done some baking over the past few days, one recipe for blonde brownies and one for plain ol' tollhouse chocolate chip cookies...And somehow I screwed them both up. I've never had this problem before...But I did notice that I bought 'dark' brown sugar...

The brownies didn't get soft, they didnt cook all the way through, and just tasted like chunks of caramelized sugar. The cookies turned into soup on the cookie sheets and spilled all over the oven, and filled my house with smoke in just about 5 minutes (ugh!)

Could the brown sugar be the problem?

Unfortunately I'm a law student with an exam tomorrow, so i don't have time to go to the grocery store, and i can't afford to order food in (or out for that matter), so i have to work with what i have. i've already listed most of what i have...the only other things i have are.....salt and pepper, apple sauce, apples (that are close to going bad), a couple oranges, various canned soups, cinnamon, sugar, flour, honey, a few boxes of those various flavored rice, and a few boxes of those fake (just add water) mashed potatos....it's not a lot to work with...i know. well it's a lot i suppose, it's just all too random and so different. Thanks for your help!!!!
