Try this tomato sauce it's SO easy and you will not believe how delicious it turns out (the secret is that you bake it in the oven instead of stirring it on the stove, you don't have to watch it and it caramelizes the tomatoes so they taste like they've cooked all day). Take two cans of tomato paste two cans of diced tomatoes a pinch of italian seasoning a tablespoon of olive oil (or plain vegetable oil will work in a pinch) either ten shakes of garlic powder or a few heaping spoonfuls of jarred minced garlic a tablespoon of olive oil a pinch of salt a pinch of red pepper flakes a cup and a half of water a handful of pepperoni Mix it all together in a baking dish (you can buy a foil baking dish for a dollar and the throw it out afterwards so you don't have to clean it) Bake at 400 for 45 minutes to an hour, you'll know when it's done because it makes the whole house smell like an italian restaurant. serve over your favorite pasta (I recommend linguine, fettucini or penne to make it seem a little fancier, also put butter or olive oil and pepper over the pasta before you add the sauce) Serve with a simple bagged salad with italian dressing and maybe a loaf of french bread (or you can buy breadsticks all ready to bake in the frozen section, you can put them in the other rack of the oven to cook 20 minutes before your sauce is ready and have fresh breadsticks) Don't forget a nice red wine.

Anything Italian is pretty simple and can be easily made romantic.

My personal favorite is spaghetti with garlic bread, a side salad and cottage chese, and a little white wine on a nicely set table with candles.

Another favorite is a simple simple chicken parmesan. Take clean chicken breasts and dip them in flour. Fry them for approximately 10-15 minutes (until golden brown and juices run clear) on medium high heat in olive or vegetable oil.

While the chicken is frying, boil spaghetti or fettucine noodles (or any other strand noodle. Penne or Rigatoni could also work, but I prefer strands with my sauce.)

Now would also be a good time to pop the garlic bread in the oven, because things are going to go pretty quick after this.

After the chicken has cooked, set it aside on a plate layered with paper towels to absorb extra grease. While it's resting, dump grease and heat spaghetti sauce in the pan you used to cook the chicken. I like any sauce with chunky veggies and garlic, but you could go as simple as the traditional no-veggie sauce. It's up to you and your sweetie.

Once you've got the sauce heated, put the chicken back in so it can absorb the taste of the sauce into the breading.

Drain the noodles and either serve with sauce and chicken on top or mix the noodles into the sauce. Pull the garlic bread out of the oven and enjoy!

Ok. You want something that does not have a long involved preparation and cooking time. I recommend the following:

grilled steak
asparagus spears
twice baked potatoes
tossed salad

for dessert, key lime pie.

You can make the potatoes ahead of time and put them in the oven to warm while you steam the asparagus and lastly grill the steak. So the only things you are really involved in the cooking of is the asparagus and steak and they will be cooking simultaneously. Make the salad earlier and buy the pie and you are set.

Any kind of pasta! Throw together a simple salad and some bread and you're all done!

Then all you'll need is the wine.

Perfect date meal!
