Some people say that the woman is supposed to say she will love, honor and OBEY her husband, while the husband does not make such a promise. Some people say this was done at one time, but no longer the case. Some people say its still done, or does it depend on the church? Can someone clear this up for me?

im just wonderin if i could just not include the bridesmaid, grooms men, sponsors etc.

just the simple one with my name and her invites you to a Blah Blah Blah and then the reception will follow at Blah Blah Blah.

its just a civil wedding anyways not the religious one.

Well I'm guessing so as it's so hard to get her to comit some time to do stuff with me ie try dresses on look at florist thought it would be nice to do these things together think I'm gonna have to put the pressure on and say I'll get someone else to go with me but as she is my only bridesmaid you think she would enjoy it
Anybody else having problems with their friends?

I mean it becomes more difficult for a female to get a choice of boys once they cross 25, It really shakes them up so much then they start getting frustrated and end up making a compromise, what you all think ?

Hi, I'm looking to use heart shaped lucky bamboo plants as my wedding centerpieces...question is... I'm not sure what to use to make them tall or wide enough to not be dwarfed by the big round tables they will be on... any suggestions?

I was asked to be a bridesmaid from a friend that I have known since 5th grade, since 10th grade we have really lost contact. Seven years later we started working together, but not even hung out once since then and that has been six months.

She recently got engaged and is going ot be married in January and asked me and 2 girls we were friends with in 5th grade through 10th grade (the other two were still good friends through 12th grade with her). The other two girls declined being bridesmaids and I accepted.

I did explain that since I am unemployed and just had a baby 10 weeks ago I could do it as long as the dress wasnt expensive and I could make payments on it. After getting fitted for the dress it is going to cost 130 before the cost of alterations and I cant make payments. It has to be paid in full before being ordered.

How do I explain I dont have that much money to just fork out for a dress right this second? She said dress has to be ordered asap for prompt delivey

I'm gonna call basically every church in the Pittsburgh area on Monday to see if a Catholic church will marry me (hopefully one will since there are 150+ in the Pittsburgh area). However, if I can't get married by a priest within my time restraints... which is next month... what other options do I have? I don't really want to do a court house wedding, so what could I do to have a unique ceremony for two people with no guests?

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to word my wedding invitations. My fiance and I are having a destination wedding. We want at least our close families to be there and we know they def. will but we still want to send out invitiations to the other people who we would have invited if we had a traditional wedding also. We don't want to be rude or hurt anyones feelings because we can't pay for everyone. They are more then welcome to come if they want to and can afford to come. But we don't expect everyone to come but out of respect we still want to let them know they can come if they would like to. When we come back, we are having a reception also which anyone we is invitied can come to that too but how would you word the invitiation and do I send out 2 response cards? (one for the ceremony and one for the reception) We also would need to know way ahead of time who would like to go to the ceremony since its a destination wedding we would need to know ahead to book it. HELP!

We're trying to cut costs and we're considering having the rehearsal dinner at the church (in the activities room) instead of going to a sit down dinner. We've talked about getting it catered or just ordering pizzas. Has anyone done this? How did it go? We're planning to have 25-30 people at the rehearsal dinner, so we're looking at alternatives to a full-fledged dinner. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to come up with a colour scheme for my wedding and I was set on the idea of having a traditional off-white wedding dress, my bridesmaids in dark green dresses and all the flowers white with deep green foliage. The problem is that when I have said this to people, the response has been that it would be a bit colourless, particularly in the photos. I would still like my bridesmaids in dark green so my question is, what flowers would go well? Should I add another colour in there? I have tried looking for pictures of weddings with bridesmaids in dark green but have had no luck, I've come to the conclusion that it's not a popular colour!
I have spoken to a couple of florists but at the end of the day it is my decision so they haven't been able to help me.
I have asked a question here about my dress and have been given loads of good advice so thought I woud put this dilemma to everyone too!

Okay, so when I asked about sides for my vegetarian wedding with thai food, I got the most ridiculous answers that were not even related to my question!

So, if you were going to a wedding of two vegetarians, who were definitely going to have only vegetarian food at a reception (lacto-ovo), what would you want to eat? I know of at least one guest who is vegan (maybe 2), so I want to be able to cater to them.

I wanted to do a delicious thai dish with sauteed vegetables and tofu in a garlic or orange sauce (my mouth's watering). Then have a couple of sides like sticky rice and spring rolls, and maybe an additional salad or soup. Apparently, that disgusts most people (wth...I'm almost believing most people haven't tried tofu dishes at a thai restaurant!)

What would you eat then? Remember, saying vegetables and pasta would be a regret. I went to a wedding this summer, and that's what we veggies got...disappointing (no protein, so I didn't feel full).

Hi.
I met my boyfriend when I was in dental school when I was 25. We are both qualified dentists now and we live together. I have been going out with him for 3 years and 6 months ago, he proposed to me!
I was so happy and we have been planning the wedding ever since.
I moved from Scotland from Poland when I was 13 and my sister Adrianna was 15. She moved back to Poland with her boyfriend Alex when she was 17. She never really grasped the english language.
We invited her and her boyfriend (husband now) to our wedding and she refused! I think it was because we never really kept in touch except for birthday and christmas cards. She said it is because she can't afford to but I know that isn't true because she is quite wealthy. Do you think it is because she thinks that we wont like her husband?
My mum and dad are really upset and wanted to fly over to poland to talk to her but she told them not to.
Please help me!
I really don't know what to do!

What should normally be the schedule for a girl on her wedding day? Get up late - have a small nap in the afternoon - eat less - the type of diet - the idea is not to get tired at the end of the day for thats the time to begin ...... ;)

The details we have sofar are having a costume party reception, a candy buffet, mini pumpkins as placecards and using Halloween-ish dvds (the Crow, Brothers Grimm, Sleepy Hollow, Van Helsing, etc) as table numbers.

What ideas would you suggest or use if you were doing this?

Well, me and my fiance are getting married December 29, and everything is too expensive around the holidays for us to go to cancun or somewhere like that. So far we have no honeymoon plans, but I would really like to do something.

After the wedding we are really short on money, I can afford 1k but that is the max. I don't want us to get married and then come back to my house(our house then), and then that be that(or if we do, something memorable I can put together).

Somewhere to get away for a few days maybe?(We live in Fort wayne, IN), something really special or sweet to do? I'm looking for ideas, and even if I don't find one here, I'm hoping they will help spark me to think of the perfect plan for this situation.

What is the best place to get engagement rings? Also, what is the amount I should spend? Any specifics, such as carat size? Also, which do you think is better: princess cut or round cut?

I am a student and I only have a few thousand dollars in savings (less than 10 grand). My only pay is from the Reserves and I'll be graduating with student loan debt.
