Hi and congratulations!

Since it's at your apartment, I would not go too overboard with the decorations. If you have not purchased them already, I would NOT use the chinese lanterns. I do like them....but I think you have too much decorating go on. When you try to decorate a small space with too much....it makes it look even smaller. Stick with a FEW candles and the lillies and orchids. That's it! That would be simple, elegant and beautiful! OR....just the flowers!

What you CAN do....clear out all the clutter. Clean, clean, clean!! Clear off all your tables, kitchen counters, etc. Put everything away...all the magazines, little knick knacks, etc. Make everything a clean, beautiful space. In the bathroom, maybe get a small vase with 1 flower in it. Get some "guest towels" and put them out in the bathroom.

I'm assuming you are serving food. If you have a table that the food will be on....get a nice tablecloth (real....not paper or plastic!)....put out the food in nice bowls, platters, etc. Use REAL dishes if you have enough...or borrow some!

Good luck!

Sounds good so far!

Just remember, it's your wedding, and your reception. It's only as good as you want it to be.

To me, the decorations are nice, but not as important as enjoying and celebrating your union together with your closeset family and friends.

Don't forget about the food. Since you're on a budget, you can always ask your guests to bring a dish to share, that will cut back on the money you have to spend for food. You could also serve just light snacks instead of a full on meal.

I wouldn't use candles. You say that you have a small apartment. I wouldn't want to run the risk of someone knocking the candle over and starting a fire.

Clean up as much clutter as you can and move furniture to create large, open areas for people to be in.

Sounds just like mine. I was married September 17, 2007 ina civil cermony. Our reception took place at my husbands home (which is now mine). We didn't go real expensive. We did those 28 inch pizza's, soda's, cake, chips, beer, hard liquior. I didn't really decorate cause we used the deck and the backyard. I used twinkilw lights and candles. It was beautiful to us. Good luck!

I love candles and I think the asian theme is very pretty . You could choose cherry blossoms , pink and white orchids, and candles of different shades of pink http://www.sensationalbrides.com . It is a great resource website for Ideas for flowers, centerpieces, favors and so much more!
