go to your travel agent. i'm pretty sure he/she can provide you with a package that would be within your budget complete with tours, hotel room and all. be sure to go to more than 1 agent and compare prices.

Go to a B & B.....they can be much more private and romantic. Here in Texas there are a bunch in the Hill Country. I'm sure if you went on line, you would find the perfect one that would be close for you. A honeymoon is what you make of it....not how much you spend or how far you travel. Look at it this way, you won't be so tired once you come home to start you new life (this is from someone who has been married for 29 years and we still love to get away at B & B's for a little romance).

We postponed our honeymoon...sort of on purpose. I mean the honeymoon is when you spend most of your time cuddling up and having sex lol. So we figured why pay a few grand to travel someplace that we will never actually explore?
If you don't want to stay home (I understand completely BTW) find someplace that is only an hour or two away. We are going to a hotel to spend the night, then get up that morning and go to the amusement park. Afterwards we will drive home and spend the rest of the weekend doing all the tourist traps by our home that we would never even think to do otherwise. I have a maid coming while we are at our hotel and she'll scrub the house from top to bottom, do any laundry, etc. so when we come back from the park we have nothing to do but relax.
I hate traveling on a great vacation then coming home and having to do laundry.

It depends where you live. Because there are many places around the country that are absolutely beautiful. You can just go to a little resort fairly close by and do some nice spa things- just a place a little bit out of the way so your away from people you would know or might run into. Even a cozy bed and breakfast would be sweet and romantic. There are other ideas too- Beaches, Niagara Falls, Tourist sites, etc. it just all depends on where you live, how close to things you are, what time of year your wedding is, etc.

We had no money and no time either. Bt like you I did not want to get married then just go home. So we got a Fancy hotel room in a large city( I live in a tiny town in south GA) that was about 2 -3 hours away. We went to dinner, did a little shopping, and even caught a movie. None of it was "special" but it was definately memorable and made for a great "honeymoon" that we could afford and could do in the weekend that we were able to do. I got the hotel super cheap from hotels.com. Congrats!!!

My finace' and I experienced the same problem. Our solution was to pick a city in easy driving distance (fortunately there were a few to pick from), and reserve a room at a nice hotel for a few days. As a previous answerer pointed out, honeymooners rarely explore outside the bedroom, so why spend much-needed money on a place you won't see? Then for the next year we're saving money for a special first anniversary trip. We haven't picked our destination yet, but England, France, Ireland, and Spain are among our options. Just remember the "who" is more important than the "where."

Wait until the first week kids are back in school in January (probably the 6th and 7th) and fly to Disneyworld for a few days. I just did a search and you could go for just over $1K (that's flight and hotel for 2). Have a money dance at your wedding and maybe you can raise a bit more money for your honeymoon (for meals and souvenirs).
This time of year the prices are lower as are the temperatures possibly, but if you can take a week and get away, go for it. Just have fun. You can definitely spend most of your time at all 4 parks and maybe even Universal Studios (very fun too).
Mention at the counter when checking in for your plane or hotel that you are on your honeymoon (just work it in) and maybe you'll be upgraded too. It never hurts!
Good luck!

Drive to a larger city maybe half an hour to a few hours away, get a hotel room in a reallllly nice hotel, and stay for the weekend or a few days. Get room service, go shopping, see a show, whatever else you want to do. Stay there through New Year's so that you can see all the festivities before you go home. You'll still get away for a few days, but you won't totally empty your bank account.

Go classic here, motel room, with rose petals strewn about the floor, candle lit bubblebath, champagne on ice, romantic music playing, have a friend help you out so the water is still warm, get her favorite chocolates, add a blindfold to the equation, and TADA super romantic night and keep the motel room for a few days for a little more fun ;)

Go to a place kinda far away but within driving distance and get a hotel room ( if it's far away then you'll have time to talk about the wedding on the way) decorate the hotel with candles and ribbons and rose petals but don't let your partner know about it! ( you can get friends and family to help you I'm sure they would be glad to) then go to a really nice place to eat and bundle up and go to the park or around some kind of water! cuddling time!!!! :)
