We will be putting some money behind the bar but can't afford all night - do people expect it? Esp as we aren't getting married locally so many people will be staying over in the hotel.

My daughter is to be wed tomorrow. We have paid the pastor who is officiating our daughter's wedding $425.00 to officiate the wedding.

Is it appropriate to add a tip after the service, and if so, how much?

My parents died many years ago, So instead of my dad walking me down the isle, it will be my grandpa. I would also like to do the father-daughter dance, but with my grandpa. I am having a hard time finding a good song that would fit. Any suggestions?

I am having my wedding in September and am looking for cheap ideas for a wedding reception probably containing only 40 people if that. Looking mostly for food ideas, and cheap delicous wines.
I am also going to have hints of italian themes in this, anything that I can do at home the day before or buy cheapily will help out greatly.

Getting married for the kids. ie...."Im pregnant (Im not in real life, just taking a poll) now we've got to get married before I have the baby."
Or you're already engaged or just in love with someone and then get pregnant....would you move up your wedding before you start to show?
AGAIN, THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION

I am slightly worried that people might go overboard. The open bar comes with our wedding package and of course includes non-alcoholic drinks. Would it be rude to make an announcement at the beginning of the reception about people not going overboard. Something like "Out of respect for the reason we're all together, we ask you to please drink responsibly and don't overdo it." What does everyone think?

Anyone been to or had a dry wedding? Me and my fiance are not anti-drinking but are choosing not to have any alcohol at our wedding. We have been to some family and friend weddings where beer among other drinks were served and did not like the atmosphere. At most we will be limiting Chanpagne to 1 glass before toasts.

So how has the reaction been at other weddings?

Alright -what do you do when over 30 response cards have not been returned and you are meeting with the caterer- who needs final numbers? I asked for the responses to be returned by July 12, and obviously not everyone obliged! Should I order food for all of them, or what?

My wedding is 28 days from today, from one bride to another, how far in Advance to you suggest getting the following done?

* A Brazillian Wax Or Bikini (Havent decided which yet)
*Full Set of Nails with French Manicure
*Pedicure
*Re-doing my highlights

The only reason Im asking is because I have to drive an hour away to get these services done, I live in the country, and I've never had Acrylic Nails or a Wax done before, so I am unsure of when to get these done.

Thank you all so much in advance

I am getting married at the end of this month and would like my name to be changed as of the date of the wedding. How long before I can change my name on my checking account, bills, etc.? I guess I am asking how long it takes the Social Security Administration to officially issue the change? Has anyone gone through this recently?

Since I can't be there, I'd rather her be the stripper to see if my fiance bites the bait. I think I'm doing him a favor too.. he's saving lots of money. It's sneaky but is it wrong?

For my frame? I am a shape where I do not have much of a waistline.. never did... a size 16 and size 38C bra size. I don't want to look bigger than I already am!! I don't care for strapless since my upper arms are just a bit too flabby for me to want to show those! Any help appreciated.

Ok so my sister married an awesome guy and I want to get THEM (not just her) a great gift since I had a ridiculous 2006. To give some background, both of these fools love the outdoors and aren't about flash in anyway. They are huge travelers (Africa is their honeymoon) but both of them are very well prepared. They already have all the things they could want or need associated with whatever they are doing (e.g. already have bikes, camping gear, travel gear, ski gear, golf gear, bouldering gear...). I need to go outside of the box for this uncoventional two and I am willing to lay down up to $5k to make sure they get the best. Anyone have any ridiculously original ideas? Thanks in advance!

I live in a VERY small town and recently found a castle about 4 hours from where I live in a much larger city. It is very reasonably priced for the ceremony and reception all in the castle and it's absolutely beautiful. Problem is, my fiance would rather not get married there because he thinks most of our guests won't show up. My close friends who I've mentioned this to say they will definitely be there, and since most of our guests live out of the state anyway, I think that it's really not that much of a difference to them. Those ones pry wouldn't have shown up anyway. I understand his concern but at the same time I know it would be a dream come true to get married in a castle! And I'll only have a wedding once, I want it to be beautiful. I realize it's more of the love for your partner than the actual location, but I just think it would be so beautiful. And if we get married in our home town, the church he's picked out isn't that nice in my opinion. Opinions please?

I'm getting married this october and was wondering if anyone had any ideas I had not thought of. We are having pumpkins and leaves everywhere. We are all going to have "fall" flowers and my girls are wearing dark colored dresses. What else could I do?

I would really like to include things like bacon, pancakes, scrambled eggs, gourmet muffins, etc, but I'm afraid since it's an evening wedding, it would make me look silly. Is there a way to make the wedding fit with this menu evening though it's going to be held in the evening/ night time? Perhaps a change in the menu (not drastic), but without compromising my love of breakfast?

If my boyfriend and I wanted to get married somewhere like Hawaii or Fiji, what all do you have to do? We just want it to be the two of us and obviously the person that marries us. But, do you get someone to marry you once you are there, or how does that work?

This is a rather sticky situation considering the bride is my sister-in-law. She asked me to be maid of honor, which at first I was excited about, but as time goes on I am realizing that I really don't support the idea of her getting married at all. She (and her fiance) are very very immature and can barely take care of themselves, let alone eachother, a house, and a potential family. On top of it all, my husband and I are due with our first baby 4 weeks before the wedding! So now I am putting all this stress on myself to plan parties for her, which I don't feel she deserves because she didn't do a THING for me for my wedding last year....her mother put in all the money for everything she had to pay for to be in it! She didn't help plan my shower or even give me a gift...she didn't even give my husband and me a wedding gift! I am stressing out and I really don't know how to appropriately talk to her and get out of this...HELP!

Our October wedding is coming up and I took charge of mailing the invitations. Roughly 250 invitations needed to be mailed & out of that 175 were in a 50 mile radius.

In an effort to cut wedding costs, I decided to deliver the 175 in the immediate 50 mile radius myself. That is roughly a savings of $72.00 dollars in stamps.

I did not even think to tell my fiancé and just said they were mailed. She then started getting calls from the invitees asking how the invitations got to their mailboxes without a stamp.

I explained the saved money & she blew a gasket. She had start telling the people asking that I self delivered them. She said it is embarrassing this needs to be explained & we come off looking cheap.

Also said some complained I went on their property to their mailbox.

All I did is save a few dollars. Why is my wife so angry?

It's a 2nd wedding for both of us & we're both in our mid 30s...so we're going for "informal" but "traditional" to some extent.
Ceremony AND reception are both outdoors, taking place at my parents farm in the orchard yard this Sept 29th. (so it'll tech be the fall season)

I wanted something that looked a little "country garden" type, but both comfy and well made for dancing, moving around, bending down to hug all the "little ones" that will be there, and that I don't have to worry about a "wardrobe malfunction!" LOL

I didn't want the train or jacket that comes on the bridal version, so I ordered the BM version shown in lavendar--only I ordered the ivory color, which is actually more "white" than the ivory appears in the pic.

(I'm trying to find some cute white wedge heels to go w/it so I don't sink in the grass!)
