My wedding is 28 days from today, from one bride to another, how far in Advance to you suggest getting the following done?

* A Brazillian Wax Or Bikini (Havent decided which yet)
*Full Set of Nails with French Manicure
*Pedicure
*Re-doing my highlights

The only reason Im asking is because I have to drive an hour away to get these services done, I live in the country, and I've never had Acrylic Nails or a Wax done before, so I am unsure of when to get these done.

Thank you all so much in advance

Um, no I don't think I am high matinence, I usually never treat myself to stuff like this, but this is my one and only wedding and I think I deserve to splurge atleast once.

I would suggest doing those the week of the wedding. Acrylics usually need to be redone every 2 weeks, so I would tho those 2 days or so before. As for the highlights, I would do those atleast 2 weeks before (you never know, you may not like it and have to re-do it).

If you regularly highlight you hair a week before since you know you will like it. If you do it the day before it's still gonna be kinda harsh.

French Manicure...if you don't wear the regularly I wouldn't put them on the for wedding. It takes a while to get used to and you might pop one off. Go to the beauty supply and get something called Hard as Nails polish. It is a clear coat. Apply it once a week, even every few days if you need. It will protect your real nails and by the time of the wedding they will be grown out and you can get them painted french manicure style. It will also look more natural b/c you won't have no nails then super long ones the next day. (And you will be used to having them on)

Pedicure....2 or 3 days before. Sometimes the scrubs can cause redness or irritation. I also suggest you use something like VEET or Nair a few days before instead of shaving so you don't get razor burn on wedding day.

Wrazillian and Bikini waxes....OUCH! A week? I always get really red and irritated from them and thas how long it lasts. It's also why I stopped and just stick with the VEET.

Waxing - please do this a week in advance, it won't grow back that fast, but your skin will have recovered by then. Please keep this in mind... baby powder. ;)

Set of nails - if you've never had nails before, and don't have naturally long nails now, don't get them too long, you will have trouble functioning. French tips would look really pretty for the wedding. Get them done a day or two before the wedding.

Pedicure - Pedicures last longer than manicures, so if you don't want to spend the whole day at the salon, you could get them done 3 days before the wedding. Otherwise, just do it at the same time as the nails.

Highlights - How well does your hair react when it's been highlighted before. My hair acts funny for a day when I get it cut, then the next couple days it looks great. If your hair does something like that, plan to do your highlights so that one of your "great days" is your wedding day. If you don't have that issue with your hair, I'd say a week before, so it can settle down before the wedding.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

Whoever said you are high maintanence is wrong. You just want to look and feel pretty- nothing wrong with that!

On the nails- you could either get them done now, then get them filled a day or 2 before the wedding. Or just wait and have them done for the first time 1-2 days before the wedding. Either way would be fine- it's up to you. (the permanent french tip that someone mentioned is really nice- you never have to worry about chips. I have mine done like that all the time)

Pedicure- you'll want that done only 1-2 days in advance of the wedding so it still looks perfect on the big day.

Hair- at least a week ahead for highlights. That way you have time to fix it if something goes wrong or you don't don't like it.

Wax- again 1-2 days in advance- probably more like 2 days ahead so all the redness and irritation has time to settle.

So make you hair appointment now for a week before the big day. And all your other stuff for a couple days before. :)

Have fun!

Redo your highlights about a week before so that your hair is out of shock before the wedding. Colored hair usually looks its very best about a week after treatment, and it literally goes through a "shock" period when you first cut or color it. The rest, I would get done the day before the wedding. Any irritation or redness from the bikini wax should be gone within 24 hours and you don't want to do your nails too far in advance because you might chip the white on the tips. Just make a spa day of it the day before.

On second thought, some of these girls are right about acrylics. They do take some getting used to. Go ahead and get them done immediately if you want them badly enough, and then get them filled and touched up the day before so that they look fresh. That should give you time to get used to them before the wedding. I'm getting married next year so the lady in the salon I go to suggested that if I wanted acrylics the day of my wedding that I should get in the habit of taking care of them early. I went ahead and got a full set the next week. I'm a nail biter and want to quit. The last time I quit biting my nails (and this worked for me but might not for everyone) I had gotten acrylics. Not being able to bite them allowed them to grow and although they were a little thin when I finally took them off, I was out of the habit and took very good care of them. Having acrylic nails at least makes you more aware of the appearance of your hands and for some women, more likely to take care of them. Any waxing I've had done, the redness has always gone away within 24 hours, usually less. Even the first time. Some women have more sensitive skin than others, so use your best judgement. Although, no one at the wedding is going to see your bikini area, so your future hubby would be the only one concerned with whether or not you're bumpy, and by the time he sees it, it should be fine. If you're going on your honeymoon immediately after the wedding, you want your wax job to last so you don't have to worry about it, so I wouldn't do it more than 2 days before. Pedicures are so short lived that I would definitely do it as last minute as possible.

IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, do it now as a test run. That way you and those helping you get ready will have an idea of what will please you and look good. IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD, I would NOT do the tanning. Soemtimes tanning can take away from the look you are trying to acheive, especially if you are wearing a white gown.
Nails, pedicure, about 5 days before so you can get use to the new nails and have time to fix them if one breaks.
Any highlights, hair cuts, do about 10 days to 2 weeks before. That way if something gets screwed up, there is time to grow out some hair and change the coloring. Same with the groom as far as a haircut. You usually can't fix a hair problem if it's done 2 days in advance.

If you're going for a wax, you might as well get a Brazillian. It will be a nice surprise for your hubby. The first time I got one it was for my fiance, but once you do it you'll never go back to shaving. Yes, it hurts, but its very brief and well worth it.

Time frame: do your highlights with in the next couple of weeks, so if it doesn't come out the way you want there will be time to fix it. The rest of them can be done during the week before. I've never had problems with a wax, so I would do all three a day or two before the wedding so that your nails still look nice.

First things first, do NOT get a brazillian, most women say that it kills. Opt for a bikini wax and i would do that mabye a week or so ahead of time. Same thing with the highlights. For the man and pedicure, do them the day before the wedding. Make sure you let them dry really well because you wouldnt want to leave and then have to go back.

Nails and feet can be done day off ( if you have time) ,1 or 2 days before hand , even a week to make it look fresh . I am getting mines day the day of since my wedding is an evening wedding

The wax you can do a week before , and the highlights do that now just in case the hair style goes bad , you have time to fix it .

any waxing should be done at least 2 days in advance, It hurts like hell so you need time to heal. Full set of Nails, maybe the day before. Just make sure that they are completly dry before leaving the nail salon! Although they have something called the permanent french manicure which is just a white tip and clear nailpolish. something to consider....pedicure the day of or the day before, again, making sure all polish is dry! I would say do your highlights a week in advance so that the color has some time to settle.
Good luck!!!!!

Wax - 2 days before
Nails - not recommended
Manicure/Pedicure - 1 day before
Highlights - 1 - 2 weeks before

If you've never had acrylic nails before, do NOT get them right before your wedding. They take a lot of getting used to. Instead, get a strengthening polish and grow your nails out for the next month, then get a real french manicure at the same time you get a pedicure - just before the wedding.
