If someone attends your shower and gives you a gift, you obviously send them a thank you. If they also attend the wedding, but do not bring another gift (which is absolutely fine by me), do you still send them a thank you for attending - or are the thank you's only for the people who send a gift?

Just trying to figure out when to send thank yous - - - I don't want to leave anyone out by mistake.

My parents have been divorced for 13 years, but it ended badly and there is still a lot of bad blood between the two of them. They know that it's "my day" and I hope that they will behave, but you never know with the four of them. Any suggestions?

It's not like we haven't tasted of each other's carnal flesh, we have, plenty. The sex is one of the better things about the relationship. We are having this huge formal ceremony and my fiance just gave me this present last night. I opened it and found this really intricate chastity belt he had made for me. It is inset with some semi-precious stones and has beautiful metal work. He wants to put it on me a few days before the wedding and then take it off on our wedding night. Am I the only one who thinks this is weird? I feel like I am living in some B and M movie. And my relatives are helping me get dressed, what if they see this? The thing is that he got really mad when I said I wouldn't do it. He said he has gone to a lot of trouble and expense and that it stands for something really important. What should I do?

Maybe this is a silly question, I'm not sure, but...

It seems most people expect to drink at wedding receptions. My fiance and I are having a non-alcoholic reception. Do you think we need to make mention of this in our invitation? Or trust that people know us enough not to be bothered about something like that?

We're having entertainment at the reception, so they shouldn't be bored.

Are bridal showers women only events? I have a vague recollection of a male friend at my friend's bridal shower, but I got there late because of work and the party was mostly over... so I don't know if he came afterwards like I did, or if he was there the whole time.

If it is an all-female event... is there a male equivalent? I don't want my fiance left out of the celebrations. We're such a team, we usually do everything together.

Thanks for all of your help.

Is Hindu the most common religion in Taiwan?

I am told that when a Hindu plans to marry the engagement is the event that is celebrated more so than the actual wedding.

All the family and friends celebrate at the engagement party.
Is that correct.

If everyone goes to the engagement party then what happens at the actual marriage service.

Who much would someone expect it will cost to marry a Hindu?

My mom died when I was 13... I'm getting married next May (I'll be 23) and think it would be special to wear my mom's wedding dress. It's in pretty good shape... a little outdated, but I'm thinking of having someone that custom makes dresses cut off the sleeves, make it strapless, etc. to make it more modern day with a look that I'd like. I have the style in my mind that I'd like to change it to... but I don't know anyone that has ever done this. I want to see some before and after pictures of people who have done this with their mother's wedding dress. Did you do this? Do you have pictures? Or do you know a website where I could find before and after pictures of a mother's dress transformed for her daughter's wedding???
Thank you! :)

A little group from work (mostly from a specific department I work in, past and present co-workers) is throwing me a little wedding shower in one person's home - about 6 people. My sister also works there, but in a different department, and she is much "higher up" and that may make people uncomfortable, but I would still like her invited. If it is not rude (suspect it might be-you tell me), how do I ask them to invite her

I am looking for a small centerpiece, using flowers and a vase. I have been trying to look online for pictures but I am unable to find any! I'm just trying to figure out if I want to use a short vase or a longer one, and if I want a wide or small opening.

If anyone knows where I can find pics to see these, please let me know!

Thanks :)

how about 'it's what's inside that counts"

"life started on 9/26/06" (the day we met)

I'm getting married next October and I've been doing some major research on wedding transportation. I've noticed that anywhere you mention you need transportation for a wedding, the price explodes and it is completely NOT affordable for 3 hours of service!! Can anyone suggest a unique way to get my bridal party transported without spending an arm and a leg? I've looked at stretch limos, SUVs, Hummers, and Trolleys. Any other suggestions? Help!

My fiance' and I have 3 attendants each,6 total.....but that leaves out my sister, who will be 17 when we marry, and his sister who will is 15.We don't want to make them bridesmaids because there are no gentlemen(their age or not)to escort them. Also, we don't want the bridal party to be uneven.

P.S. I believe his sis. is young enough to be a jr. b.m., but i dont think my sister is....and i would like them to be together.
So, BESIDES J.R. BRIDESMAIDS, WHAT ELSE IS IT FOR THEM TO DO?

My little brother (17) is very close to me and I would like to include him somehow in the wedding. My original thought is for him to like the memorial candle for our grandfather who he was named after and was close to. I'm not sure that is enough or if there is something more important or memorable for him to do. I'm open for any suggestions...other then doing readings (I've got that covered)

I am having 5 bridesmaids, his 3 sisters, and my 2 sisters. As he needs to choose 5 groomsmen he is having trouble. I asked him to have my brother, and he refused. I dont see why because i am having his 3 sisters. He doesnt even know 5 people who are close to him. I am pretty upset about it because its just 1 person out of five, he could at least have some respect as i am having his sisters?
