Not so much about ceremony, but would like to include some Greek traditions. Also would like to learn as much as possible in order to be the best wife I can be. Heritage and family are very important to both of us, and I want to immerse myself in the culture, traditions, etc. Serious answers only please!

Full and voluminous, like a "princess" ballgown
Sleek and form fitting in a luxurious fabric like satin or silk
A-line ballgown
Anything strapless
Anything with lots of rhinestones and shine
Modern and edgy in a non-traditional color
A Black dress
Something shorter than normal
A casual dress that you can wear for many other occassions
Other?.....please do share

I use to be a wedding planner. Online is useful for many things. Why on earth would anyone consider buying a wedding gown, jewelery, flowers, etc., online? Especially the gown!!!
If you can't touch it, you don't know if you like the feel. If you can't actually see it, you don't know if it's the exact color you want. If you can't try it on, you won't know if it suits your body, something VERY IMPORTANT. And, you end up paying for alterations that most stores will do for free if you purchase from them.
The same with linens, flowers. Unless you can see and feel them, you won't know if they are just right, or if they match.
The same applies for everything else. I've had many couples disappointed with online purchases for weddings.
Online is great for ideas, but when it comes to the real thing, you should go with a vendor in your area so you can deal with them in person in case of a problem, such as receiving your items on time, and in time to make changes.
Any thoughts?

When we got married 3 years ago my husband decided to look for the wedding ring . He said _ you do not need to come with me I'm going to surprise you !
Before we got married he said _ Ok I got the rings but you have to pay me 1/2 and I gave to him 1/2 of the total amount he spend...
Before married I saw in my husband night stand his old wedding ring ( the one he wear with his ex). Not so long ago I was curious and I checked if his wedding ring was there, WAS NOT.
I was thiking ...- the wedding ring he is using right now was the one he was using with his ex only he reforms that one. I tell you why I know that I went to the store where he bought it, and I spoke with the seller and she told that in his record only see one ring ( mine) and she told me they can reform or change any ring...
I'm a little upset ...

Girl meets guy, they get married, they don't register for gifts and so everyone gives them cash for a gift. Six months later, they both have affairs and split. Ex-husband heads off into the wild blue yonder and leaves behind everything except his clothes and car. Girl keeps cash and never thinks of returning it. Nine months later girl announces her engagement and impending marriage to affair partner. Once again, girl does not register for gifts as she prefers cash. Once again, girl plans HUGE extravaganza wedding where foods looks like it is about fifty bucks a head. I am tempted to just go eat for free and not give a gift. Would this be a bad idea?

...a week before your wedding?

My cousin's wedding is next week. My mom just saw this in the paper about her reception hall:

Critical Violations 7-19-07
July 19, 2007, 12:13 pm

When the Health Department checked out the Polish Falcons this week, they found a total of 3 critical code violations. The inspector found mouse droppings and cockroaches. The mice "evidence" as the inspector puts it was found in a storage cabinet for dishes. The inspector found those cockroaches in the building's basement. They told the Polish Falcons to call an exterminator right away. They got another critical for food temperatures. A walk-in cooler was holding at 45-degrees. That's above the 41-degrees considered safe for potentially hazardous foods. They told the Polish Falcons to 'throw out' the food in that cooler and stop using it until it's fixed. The third critical concerns storage. The inspector found toxic chemicals stored above food service utensils.

My son is getting married June of 08 and it's a black and white wedding. My daughter in law will be carrying white cala lilies and white roses. My son suggested I wear a black and white dress but I don't want to wear the exact same thing that the mother of the bride might wear.

I'm not into the traditional things, so I'd like to customize my wedding invitations to fit my tastes. I have a lot of crazy friends so I thought it would be cool to find something awesome to send out to them. Maybe choosing unique and fun colors would do, but I'm just wondering if maybe there are any websites or stores out there.

My daughter and her fiance have lived together for over 2 years now and have a baby. They are getting married Oct. 6. Once they announced their wedding, Ms. X (the fiance's mother) started planning everything, putting deposits down at different places--basically running up a huge tab, before discussing anything with my husband and I about helping out financially. That was a month or so ago she started doing this. She called me the other night asking if we were going to "follow wedding etiquette." She was very rude from the get-go, talking down to me, basically implying that we have alot of money (we do not!) and that we should be paying for photographer, reception, food, drink, etc. Things she has already put money on before consulting anyone. And they live in Ohio while we live in Indiana. Not too convenient for us to run over there anytime we want. She hung up on me when my answers didn't satisfy her. She was very rude to my husband when he called her later. HELP!

I need advice!

My fiance is 8 months pregnant but we are not staying together. She still stays at their home. We have planned to have our wedding in December 2007.

I went to the church where we plan to have the wedding, and the priest requested to have my fiancee present before he can register us and book the date for our wedding.

Am worried. What will be the priest's reaction when he realises my fiance is pregnant? Can he decide not to register us. We expect she will be back to her health, by December since she expects to give birth next month (August).

Okay I already have my center pieces for my wedding ...they look like a goldfish bowl small but cute inside they have poppurri i believe ...i have a total of 80 long tables...they are combined by twos making 40 REALLY long tables...anyway the center pieces i have are fitting two at each LONG table ...so that is like one at each smaller table ...but in the middle there wont be anything, so i think it will look a bit plain...i am what you can say literally broke right now i really do not have much money to spend no more ..but its until nov so i am willing to save a lil more to add something between each centerpiece...i saw a wedding that had cakes in the middle however im already having wedding cookies...should i had anything else?? or is that more than enough? plz help i want it to look nice ...elegant as much as possible...it was a small wedding but we are up to over 500 guests now so i want them to all be happy...well maybe not all but u know...HELP?

My husband and I were invited to the wedding of an old friend (I haven't seen her in 5 years). The invitation is just made out to the 2 of us, even though the bride knows we have a baby. Does this mean the baby isn't invited? I don't trust babysitters yet (what can I say, he's my firstborn), so I'd have to figure something else out if he's not welcome. Is it rude to bring a baby to a wedding when it's not specified on the invitation? Thanks!
