Since the 25th year is the Silver wedding anniversary, I would give something silver. A silver frame with the picture of the whole family is precious.

I am guessing you probably have brothers and sisters and maybe they have kids too? I would go get a group photo of all their kids, the ones they married and the grand children. Get a big one and have it framed for them. Make it a group gift. Then from each of the siblings, have just the photo of that group. That is what we did for my grand parents anniversary one year.

Something silver is traditional. Maybe throw them a small party with a little cake, then let them get out their serving set and feed each other cake. And then book them a room at a hotel about an hour away and send them off with a bottle of wine and 2 glasses.

it depends on u'r budget ....
i'd suggest .... just pretend like as if u forgot tat it was their anniversary .... dont show any sign tat u have it in u'r mind ... have u'r parents go somewhere out & enjoy by themselves & come back .... in the mean while u get u'r house decorated ... make the place look totally different .... get the dining table decorated & have it look sooo royal .... buy some excellent dinner from outside have it presented at u'r dining table ..... a cold drink along with it would be a gud complement ..... & wen u'r parents arrive home ... they'll be stunned by u'r suprise ....
i think it will be an excellent surprise ... provided u get the plan well executed ... its totally upto u dear .....
hope u like the idea .....

I splurged and got my parents a bottle of Dom. It's a major milestone, and they still remember it now....15 years later.
Personally, I think you should do something that's a once-in-a-lifetime gift,: Like a balloon ride, or a private tour somewhere cool, or a custom-made gift, or portraits, or a limo and dinner. Good luck!

How about a nice celebration where they can renew their vows - maybe find out a little bit about their wedding day and re-create some of the decorations/scenery. I know that's what I would enjoy for my anniversary.
Good luck!

Something silver is traditional.
Why not gather all your siblings together for a professional photo and put the picture in a silver frame?
Throw a surprise party.
