My little brother (17) is very close to me and I would like to include him somehow in the wedding. My original thought is for him to like the memorial candle for our grandfather who he was named after and was close to. I'm not sure that is enough or if there is something more important or memorable for him to do. I'm open for any suggestions...other then doing readings (I've got that covered)

You didn't mention your wedding party, so if not a groomsmen then he could be an usher. I also depends on what type of ceremony you are having. Lighting the memorial candle is a good idea.
I'm sure you'll find something, if you can give me more info I'd be glad to help further. I coordinated a friends wedding last month and she had all kinds of extended family to include.
Feel free to email me.

Ask your fiance to include him as a groomsman. Even if he already picked them, he should have taken your brother into consideration first. Add another attendant on each side if you need. My fiance asked me last week if he could ask a friend of his INSTEAD of my 5 yr old nephew (who is so excited about it) and after I told him absolutely not, we just decided that he would walk in with my sister (MOH) and then he can sit with my parents during the ceremony.

He could stand on your side as a bride'sman, lighting the candle is a great idea, he could be head usher and seat the mothers or grandmothers. Best wishes!

Make him an usher.....helps seat people and tells people to sign the guest book and stuff.
That is what I am doing with my brothers.
Also my oldest brothers(15), is seating the mother of the bride as an honor after all the guests arrive and are seated.
Hope this helps!
Congratulations!!

I think doing a reading would be most appropriate - even though you said you already chose people for that. Otherwise, he could be an usher, or give out programs. It really would have been best if he could have been a groomsman!

Have him usher or give you away alongside your mom and dad. And still have him light the memorial candle for your grandfather.

Why not make him YOUR honor attendant? Have him wear a tux like the groomsmen and stand up for you.

I had my brother in the wedding party, but he stood on my side during the ceremony behind my girls. He said he was fine with it as long as he didn't have to wear a dress. :) It was important to me to have him on my side since I only have one sibling.
