My wedding is in a few weeks...this is what we are using for our centerpiece: My colors are chocolate and pink. We found vases for a dollar (commonly called eiffel tower vases because that is the shape of them), not too tall and my mom arranged silk white and pink flowers for each of them. She then put chocolate and white tulle and randomly tucked some in the flowers and around the vase. Each of the vases are going to be filled with coffee beans so that more of the chocolate color is tied in. Each vase is going to be placed on an antique pink depression glass plate (my mom has a huge collection of it) and then more coffee beans scattered around the plate. Hope this helps and gives you some ideas! You can search "eiffel tower vase" and you will get lots of images to look at!

turquoise and pink would give a very tropical look to your wedding. If you are not a lover of pink, you can always do the turquiose and beige or a soft yellow. With either color, you could use gerbera daisies for the bridesmaids to carry. Against the turquiose, that would look nice. A nice centerpiece idea I saw at a wedding was a large vase, sand in the bottom (one color of the wedding) and a ribbon around the vase on top (the other color of the wedding) and a pillar candle (white) inside. There were white, clear, and opaque stones along the bottom (on top of the sand). Good luck and I hope this helps with some ideas....

What would you think about this: a wide but very shallow bowl filled with water - with floating tealight candles and floating flowers (no stems)? Make sure the flowers' blooms are pretty flat and won't bump into the candles' flames.
This way, you won't have a tall centerpiece that will obstruct your guests' view of each other as they are chatting across the table. Just an idea. Good luck finding your perfect centerpiece!

Do you have a location picked out yet? That will help determine if you need tall, short, wide, or fat. For instance, if you are having the reception in a victorian mansion a modern look of single flowers in a bud vase would look out of place. If the place you are at has less than stellar ceilings tall centerpieces can help make them less noticeable.

If you use Google Image and search for "wedding centerpiece," you get quite a few great pictures.

Also, one thing to keep in mind with centerpieces is that it is difficult to see over or around flowers in a tall vase, so the people on one side of the table will be blocked from those on the other, which stifles conversation. Also, people on the back side of the table would not be able to see the dance floor or the table of honor when you do toasts and other fun things like the cake cutting. I would opt for a shorter arrangement.

Here is what I did, I bought white plastic(cheaper than glass) vases and glued ribbon that matched the wedding around each. Then I filled with white carnations(cheaper than roses). All in all my centerpieces cost about $3.50 each.
I got the vases from 99centwholesale.com.
Here is sort of what mine look like. No greenery and a full bouquet of white carnations.

They have an entire section devoted to weddings and besides that, you may find something you like that isn't even in the weddings section.
If you're not wanting to do a vase and do something simple, do a single flower with a ribbon tied around it sitting on top of a mirror. I saw this in a wedding and I liked it so much I used the idea in mine! Good luck!
