My fiancé and I are getting married in a small town with no hotels or motels close by. The closest place for our out of town guests to stay is about 40 miles away from where we are getting married. We aren’t sure what to do since the places to stay are so far away from where the wedding is. Please help!!

I am looking for some websites that sell (reasonably priced) items that I still need for my upcoming wedding reception.

Things I am looking for include floating candles, glass bowls for the floating candles, perhaps some reception favors, decorations, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

(Father/Mother/Stepfather/Stepmother were negligent parents, and basically I'm against tradition if it's a facade for underlying truth.)

My boyfriend of 4 years has just recently asked me to marry him. We are planning to be married this summer (august). I am by no means a traditional bride. In fact my whole wedding will go against every tradition.
My whole family is irate with me because I have chosen a pink wedding dress. They say that brides are supposed to wear white. I say a bride can wear what ever color she wants. They also say I should wear the traditional mexican long lace veil. I would prefer something shorter.
Am I wrong to want to go against tradition? Where is it written that brides HAVE to wear white? Isn't this wedding supposed to be about what I want?

I am getting married next year, and trying to cut costs as much as possible, so I am not hiring a wedding planner and am trying to plan it all by myself on a limited budget. I own my own consulting business and I work a full time desk job, so I don't have a whole lot of time to sit down and spend on this wedding. Any ideas on how to make it cheap and simple for me?

Here's the deal. My 9 yr old daughter was asked to be a Jr. Bridesmaid at the wedding of our neighbors. When they asked us they has said not to worry about the cost of the dress. A few weeks later she mentioned that the dress she picked would be about $60 but no to worry about it. A few months pass and she brings up the dress again. This time she informs me that she needs the down payment of $80.00 by end of the month and that the dress was now costing
$ 189.00. Now from the very start we had told her that we could not afford to buy an expensive dress that our daughter would only wear once. We keep telling her this, but she doesn't seem to listen. But regardless of all of that, I thought that etiquette dictated that the family of the bride took care of the dresses for the wedding party. Does anyone know when asked to be part of the wedding party who is responsible for purchasing the attire????

How many times have we seen some guy run into a church at the last minute and proclaim his love for the bride, who then proceeds to run off with him?

Why is this so one-sided? Just once couldn't a woman run in and do the same for the groom? It would only be fair.

My fiance and and I are planning on getting married next year, after I graduate from high school. We have talked it over with his parents and they are ok with it. My parents are having a hard time accepting this though. We have been dating for 4 years now, we have been saving money (up to a few thousand now) to help us, we have started marital counceling through our church, we have gone over what we need to do financially and we both know in our hearts that we are meant for each other. His parents seem to understand this, and know I will continue my education here as planned either way. I am moving out when I am 18 anyways, so why not marry and live with the man I love? Please help me to get my parents to understand this and know that I am ready to do this. By the way don't bother saying I should wait, I know what I am getting into.

Ok, I stil haven't decided on colors yet. But when the time comes to get bridesmaids dresses, how do I go about making everyone feel comfortable in what they are wearing? Should I tell them, 'these are the colors, choose a dress' or should I give them a few different styles in the color I want or should I let them choose the dress and let them decide what color to wear.
Matching the wedding of course! Like my matron of honor wear one color and the bridesmaids alternate in color, cause I know I am going with at least 2 colors. It could go like this: light blue, lilac, light blue, lilac? One of my bridesmaid is a little on the heavy side and I don't want her to be uncomfortable in what everyone else will be wearing. Any advice is welcome! Thanks!!

I am the maid of honor for a wedding in July. I am having trouble finding those special invitations for the bridal shower. It is Hawaiian themed, yet I can only find invitations that have beach scenes or are too simple looking. I am looking for something elegant with a lot of color on it. Any help would be appreciated.

I need three bridesmaids dresses for my sisters' wedding, Navy Blue, Baby Blue, or Both. Where can I find some for less than $50 a piece? One of the girls is 13, so I don't want anything too grown up, but nice enough for a married 23-yr-old mom.

I am getting married an a catholic church and was just wondering if anyone knew what type of music is allowed to be played. I would really love to be able to walk down the isle to the 'canon in D' played by pachelbel, but i don't know if that is allowed to be played in the church..?

I'm considering not hiring a photographer for my wedding, simply because it's a beach wedding and I don't know if there are many photographers. I would rather invest in a nice digital SLR camera that takes hundreds of pics. Plus camera is about $800, whereas photographer about $2000-3000. Do you think I should do this instead of a photographer?

my fiancee and I have two totally different wants for our wedding day - she wants just me and her, no one else, on a beach somewhere. I on the other hand am very close to my immediete family and cannot even begin to contemplate getting married without my mum and dad there and without my brother as my best man. The reasons behind her desire are based on a fear of her mother, who has a drink problem, causing a scene and ruining the day. Sober, her mother is a nice quiet demure lady, but with a drink in her turns into a very jealous, attention seeking woman. Beyond her mother, she has a slightly larger family unit whom she would feel obligated to invite. i've tried to reassure her that there is no way that her mum will ruin her wedding but my girl says she can't be stopped as she has done it so many times at family events when she hasn't been getting attention. Our parents never met and we both dread it as they are so different. anyone gone through something similar?
