Ok our reception is in a different place then our wedding about 18 mile travel distance. We are having a cash bar so is this our cocktail hour? is this tacky rude?? We are on a strict budget. I am serving a sit down dinner appetizers, salad, dinner, desert.. I would rather pay good money for a dinner then money to get my guest sloshed.... Cocktail hour is the time between the time when we take pics and it takes us to get to the reception... so are we being tacky?

I have noticed this on many sites like the Knot as well. Someone asks if something is acceptable because they like it but they don't know if anyone else (everyone from random strangers to their own guests who they should know to begin with) will find it acceptable or not. As long as it's not tacky or a breach of etiquette, why can't they choose what they like and to heck with what anyone else thinks about it, since they can do things their way when it's their turn?

I am the maid of honor in my friend's wedding. I am never one to do anthing average, I want it to be memorable and make my friend feel special, a bonding experience. I am usually great when it comes to creating things like this, but at this point in my life I just can't seem to find my creative bug!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Whether it be themes, games, things to do. FYI, it will have to be held the Wed night of the wedding due to all guests being from out of town. And we are all about 25 yrs old

Thanks!!!

Looking for wording we are getting married at one place and having the reception at another location following the cermony and pictures. Also, we are getting married at 11 but I know it is going to take approx 30-45 minutes to take pics should I put the reception time at 12 pm since it is at a different location or would it be rude to have a laspe in time?

We are having a very informal reception (getting married out of state with only immediate family and very close friends in attendance) at out home, having a small cake for those attending the wedding itself, but we don't know about the other stuff. We don't want to do the traditional dances, but should we still have a large cake and do the toast? Help!!

My Father is the one paying. He has long since divorced my mother and she isn't paying at all. Just him. What is the correct way to have him on the invitation? Mr. so and so requests your presence ? Or do I put both him and my mother?

My boyfriend has asked me to marry him. He is from the UK. I am from the US. He wants to be a US citizen and have everything all ironed out before the wedding comes about. He would also like to open his own business here. Where do we get started on the matter?

The church I'm getting married in doesn't allow flowers(or anything) to be dropped down the aisle and I think having the flower girls (there will be 4) carry little bouquets is too simple.
Are there any other options?!?!

I know there's obviously all sorts of different costs for a wedding, but a regular Catholic wedding and a regular reception (open bar of course!) what would that run a person?

I'm going to my cousin's wedding soon and I was wondering a few things..the colors of the wedding are black and pink does that mean everything we wear has to be black & pink? They are registered @ a few stores? Does that mean we have to buy the gift at these stores? And if we do do we let them know or something? The store? I'm 17, and have never been to a wedding please help!!lol

We only verbally told them we did not wish them to be used, but they did not ask permsission before submitting 7 photos to a county council for their brochure. We are devastated and want to have the publication withdrawn. I dont know what type of privacy this is an abuse of - can someone give any insight?
thanks
