I'm just wondering how its done, since there's no aisle to walk down and all. He has his heart set on Oregon coast, but I have never been to one and have no idea how to plan something like that. Where do people sit, in lawn chairs? OMG! LOL

Suggestions plz?

I went to one last fall.

It was lovely.

Everyone was barefooted. She didn't walk to any music, but the ohh and ahhh 's and the ocean was more than enough music.
She wore a veil, but the wind kept on blowing off place! The ceremony was short and then we had champagne toast on the beach on lovely glass flutes. She had a table with a beautiful tableclothe where the glasses were carefully placed. The champagne was chilled in coolers underneath the table After the ceremony, they went to the water and walk by the shore and throw some shells given to them by the officiant. The picture is sublime!
Then they had gorgeaus pictures taken on wood lounge chair by the ocean, and on the rocks, it was GREAT!
I was digitally video recording the wedding, but all you can hear is the wind! Make sure you take this in consideration when hiring a videographer : )
After that we went to a sit down dinner in a fancy restaurant.
After that, we went to their beach house and had a blast there. She had this gorgeaous cake in beac h theme..the cake toppper was 2 wood lounge chairs, a picket fence and little shells ... it was so chic.
For favours she has the flutes washed and arrange in pairs in a gorgeous organza bag, along with a Yakee Candle in "wedding day" scent.

It was the best wedding and fun too!

Things to consider
-Backup location in case of weather
-Good directions to the beach
-You have to obtain a city permit to use a public beach. Ours was done on a private beach, but even so you get one or to people just browsing about.
-Reconsider using a veil
-Use appropiate noise buffers if videotaping your wedding.

Congrats!

I've never been to one but it sounds like fun. Most brides at the Knot who are planning beach weddings say that if the ceremony is 10 mins or less, you can get away with no chairs. Some beaches don't allow any chairs so check with whoever you get your permit from as to what they allow and what they don't.

You will find a ton of helpful info at http://talk.theknot.com on how to put this together.

rent some nice white wooden folding chairs and pace them like in a church (with an aisle in the middle). for the aisle you can have a path of flower petals or have candles along the sides - beautiful.
you can place flowers on the end of each row of chairs (like you would pews)
you can rent an archway with tulle or flowers intertwined in it for where you, your honey, and the pastor will stand.
wear a whispy light dress without a train or a little one (dont' want to drag the sand everywhere)
bright summery colors will look nice! blue, yellow, orange, green, pink are some that come to mind!

it has some great ideas for what to do with planning outdoor weddings!

the guests would sit in white folding chairs. you can make a path to walk down the aisle. you just need to be concerned about the weather and wind. other than that, beach weddings are very nice and fun to go to.
