The size of the diamond does not matter. Its the size of the love behind it. If that is the ring you like, then that is the ring you should have. There is no such thing as "acceptable" when it comes to things like this. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Those people are shallow and have no idea what real love is about. Good for you and your bf. I hope you have a wonderful life together. Congrats!

It is not the cwt or the price but it is the MEANING behind the rings. We went to a pawn shop for ours and spent only $300. Mine was originally valued @ $3,000 his was much more. We had spent the day looking in pawn shops, you can tell really quick which are the more reputable. My center diamond is so big that I am constantly gouging myself with it. I know that most women feel that they gotta be Cinderella on their wedding day....but I can't imagine them feeling like Cinderella while they are trying to pay mortgage, and raise their first child while still paying the fairy tale bill. Because we spent less on the rings we were able to go on a better honey moon, which if you ask anyone,it is probably the most fun part of all the pomp and circumstance. I wish you both happiness and a long life together!

the size of the ct. isn't what counts it's the fact that the both of u love each other and continue to make ur relationship grow in the event that u marry and u would like a bigger ring one day down the road and u can afford it then go for it, but for now if this ring size is what u want then let it be GOOD LUCK

the size of the cr dont matter. it is the meaning behind it. when my now husband proposed to me he did it with a plain gold band. when we went shopping for our wedding rings I then picked out a set that contained an engagement and wedding ring. my ring now has 15 stones in it they are only 1/4 cr apeice. but we saved up for them. i think that 1/8 cr will do just fine. you can always save during your engagement like i did and upgrade at the wedding or save for a year or so and get a larger stone for your first annvi. just remember that it is just a ring. you are marrying the man not the ring.

If you are ok with that then that is fine. Personally I wouldn't want a ring under at least 1/2 ct.

I think one should buy a ring that they can afford. I checked around and there are many places that allow you to exchange the diamond for the same price you bought it and upgrade it for the cost difference of the diamond. Upgrade it when you guys have more income.

The only thing that matters is that you like the ring and would love to look at it everyday. My fiance gave me a 3/4 carat. I think it is too big because I am not a diamond girl, but I catch myself staring at it. The only thing that matters is that he picks it out, asks you and loves you for who you are. Size DOES NOT matter! You lucky girl!!!!

Whatever he can afford if it is alright with you. Have you thought of a good CZ? Let me tell you that no one would ever know the difference. Check into CZ's. You can get a 1 carat diamond to make your head turn in CZ. Go to HSN.com and find Victoria Weict jewelry.

It's not the amount of carats in the ring, it's the amount of love! Yhere was a time when neither of the rings exchanged at the wedding had diamonds, just simple gold bands.
