He's worked hard and has "got it all" if you know what I mean. But it would be nice to surprise him. Something over the top and extreme.

i've found a dress that I love, on sale... BUT the wedding may not be for another 18months... I don't think my weight will change much before then but should I just wait and hope to find something similar closer to the time...or do you think I can risk it?

Also.... Is it OK to send invitations saying that me and my fiance wish to invite...blah blah, rather than my mum wishes to invite...blah blah... as my parents are divorced and I don't want to have to choose who to put at the top of the invitation.... plus me and my fiance are gonna be paying for it all ourselves anyway?

I need music that can be played by minstrels before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour but more importantly. One or two songs that can be sung by a soloist or group that has a celtic/medieval/renaissance flavour.

I've read dozens of q&a on whether kids should be allowed at weddings, and while I love kids of all ages, we are getting married on a boat that has a four hour cruise time, ending at about 11pm. Although the boat will dock for emergencies, I don't want the boat to have to stop every time a kid wants to go home. How do I word this on the invitation so that the parents and the kids don't get upset? If the reception were on land, I wouldn't have any problems...but given the boat situation, I really feel that kids shouldn't come on board unless their used to staying up late.

However, one other caveat: my aunt's daughter will be 7 and she will be the flower girl. She will definitely be there - will this make other guests uncomfortable?

Thanks in advance!

i am the girl that wrote "why wont my boyfriend marry me?" last week. well now we are getting married!!!! we had a very lengthy discussion and i think i made him realise how important it is to me and he wants to make me happy. i am so excited to be his wife and for us to finally be a proper family! however, he wants to get married in vegas this year and then do it all properly with big wedding on beach etc.. in a couple of years when we move to australia. the beach wedding in oz is my dream wedding, we have a lot of friends there as well and i know it would be fantastic. the question is should we get married in vegas this year and then do the big weddding or just wait and do the dream wedding just once? i am just a little scared that it wont feel as special if we are already married. he doesnt mind either way, he is leaving the decision up to me. what do you think?

I'm in the UK and going back to attend my sisters wedding in the USA. I'm not in the wedding party. I have a fantastic dark brown, strapless dress (detachable straps) that is nearly floor length. The skirt of the dress is floaty and my entire shoe can be seen. Is this formal length? The shoes are a sparkly slip in sandal and I have a gold wrap for my shoulders. The question I have is will I be overdressed? It's a 3pm church wedding with a 5-11pm reception. I don't want to feel overdressed but I really love the look. I haven't been to a wedding in about 20 years so I don't really know what 'they're wearing' to weddings now. Any suggestions or advice?

I was just wondering how many people thought if they were someone that knew for sure that they could not keep there marriage vows for life should really be getting married to begin with?
Like for instance have a problem staying faithful or honest to a loved one?
Giving up friendships with someone of the opposite sex when you marry?
Living through times of having no sex quite possibly for months at a time?
Continuing to flirt with women or men when married or in a serious relationship?

ow can I have a wedding/reception that includes his family in Germany, mine in Montana, and we will live in Florida. None of our family will fly to Florida, but somehow I think..do I go back to MT and do a reception (Germany would have to wait for 2 years, K-1 Visa) and then Florida do I have a reception? Not that many friends here..or do we do the civil service in Florida and a ceremony in Mt? Ideas?
