My husband-to-be is too shy to speak in front of a crowd, he's only going to say thank you after my speech.

I am my best friends maid of honour. Last month we went to a bridal shower. Since then she has piked her dress started on her decorations etc.

There is another Bridal shower today and she wants to go, but she wants me to go to. I've made plans and have a really busy day ahead of me; should I cancell something and go to this show? I don't really want to and I think it's a waste of time seeing as she has picked everything out. It's fine for her to go, but she may throw a brides fit if I don't go.

What should I do?

My husband and I are were invited to the wedding of our four-year-old son's Godparents. They informed us that due to their budget children were not allowed to attend the wedding. We don't have anyone to look after my son and six-month-old baby girl, since the people that usually babysit for us are attending the wedding. We will not attend the reception since our children are not welcome but plan to attend the church ceremony. I don't want to spend money getting a new dress to attend the ceremony, since I'm three months pregnant. I have a nice looking white summer dress totally appropriate for church. Would it be o.k. to wear it for the weddding ceremony on March 25 @ 3pm, since I won't be attending the reception?

We are having a medium sized reception at our local VFW hall. The chairs are regular old folding chairs (kinda ugly) and I am undecided as to whether or not I want to add chair covers and sashes. I've been told no one will notice...but I dont want the place to look mismatched after we decorate the tables, plus the added cost of renting them...please help!!

My dad is getting married for the 3rd time to a woman that he just met 2 months ago. This is her 3rd marriage also. Obviously, I don't know her well, but I have been to her house, and she is a complete pack rat! There are atleast 20 picture frames on each flat surface and her kitchen has items stored on the counters, so anything for the house is definately not an option. My dad could use some new clothes, but she has an overabundance. I don't think it would be very nice to just buy something for him (even though that's really what I want to do). The wedding is in a few months, so I do still have some time. What should I get them?

My fiance and I have booked a reception hall about an hour away from our hometown. We are concerned about not being a regular patron at a church and are seeking advice on how to find one thats closer to our reception hall. Any ideas?

I am trying to decide what to do about the flowers for my wedding, which is in mid-May. The color scheme is blue and white (bridesmaids in periwinkle) and the theme is Israeli Jewish (we're thinking of the tables being city names instead of numbered). I was wondering, do you think a single white rose (or some other flower) tied with a ribbon and some babysbreath would be an elegant choice for the bridesmaids?

in family for weddings and baby christenings for years. I'm supposed to carry it, then put it on my babies head, and its then used in baby's wedding, etc. Thing is, we aren't gonna have kids, but he has 2 younger brothers who might want to. Should I give it back to her for them, or carry it?

we're getting married in 3 months and have decided to get married in the catholic church now instead. Is this enough time? Do we have to get married at our local church or can we choose any church we wish as long as available? Can we get the pre-wedding counselling done in this time???Thank you...

my boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half, i'm young and aware i am not stable enough to marry him yet, however I get these urges where I really want him to propose, I love him and he loves me. he's made it clear I am who he wants to marry and I feel the same. I just want college sorted out and a decent job before i walk down the isle, none the less the daydreams and fantasies and constant giddy feeling of wanting to at the very least be engaged keeps flooding my mind. I've mentioned it to him and sometimes I worry if i am being to pushy on the subject not by choice but because i seriously can't stop talking about it, what should I do? he's said i'm not being pushy. why do i have this never ending urge. is it because i love him and I can see myself with him or is it something attached to my youth that makes me want marriage?

We will be at a lake. We are not able to leave there. We will have lots of friends and family there. There are soooo many activities in that ONE week that we are responsible for; like our daughters grade 12 Grad, July 1st Activities & Fireworks (which includes Fish Durby, games, face painting, etc), 2 different 50th Wedding Anniversarys for guests of ours, and my Sister's Wedding (at the lake also). We will be exhausted and am scared we won't have enough time and energy to celebrate our special day. Any suggestions of what I could do ahead of that time to make our day/evening/night special that we will remember outside of all of those activities? We can't leave because we are the owners of this resort. My idea is to just put up a banner, "Welcome to share our 25th Wedding Anniversary" outfront of the store and serve cake and coffee. Please be creative, put yourself in our shoes. Try and come up with fun and romantic ideas that would work at a fishing lake setting.
