I am a young African American woman who wants an african-inspired themed wedding definitely want my pastor to officiate and he and I both have extremely large families with exhorbitant taste and very little money. We want the wedding that celebrates our love but will be memorable for our families.
Any suggestions? I have a year and 5 months to plan this. What comes first?

I always thought I'd get married in a typical church wedding, but one of my friends and her boyfriend eloped and got married a year ago, and lately I've been thinking that's something I might like to do. I'm not really religious, so having a religious ceremony isn't a big deal to me, but I'm still unsure about the whole idea. I think it might upset my family just 'cuz they wouldn't be there to share it with me and such. I just want to know what other people think about it. Any comments would be appreciated!

My father is getting married in June 2007. They are having a big formal wedding. He has been with her for about 18 years. . My issue is that I am not sure my role in anything. Is there anything I should be doing. And what about a speech. I have searched all over online and find nothing about a 27 year old womans father getting married
There are no daughter of the groom shirts, speeches, etc.
Any suggestions would be awesome

My wedding colors are teal and dark chocolate brown. The bridesmaids are going to be wearing a chocolate brown dress with a teal sash. What color should the tuxes be? I don't think my fiance would feel comfortable wearing white- besides, he has a very light complexion.

My wife and I were married by a j.p. in his back yard. we spent less than one hundred dollars on our wedding and went on a camping trip for a honeymoon. We spent our money buying land where we still live.I can't understand the reasoning behind a fancy wedding. The money is gone and you have nothing but some prestiege to show for it.

I am getting married in August of this year. I want a new fragrance that I can wear again in life and will think of my wedding day. Currently I love Very Sexy for Her by VS(the first one), PINK and Heavenly(ANgels collection) all my VS. I like Ralph Lauren Blue. I love simply by clinique but they are about to discontinue it. Can someone suggest a nice perfume? Something that will match summer, and I don't mind something 'strong and heavy'. I don't care for citrus scents or strong vanilla scents. Thanks!!!

I recieved a bridal shower gift from my fiances relative who was not there due to cancer. She is going through chemo & has been very sick. I dont want to start off with 'thank you for...' - I am trying to personalize each one by saying something like - it was great to see you at the shower... or something to that effect. Any ideas on how to personalize the opening statement? Can i mention something like ' we hope you are feeling better?'

I am getting married this June. My dress is champagne, and I know the wine color is more of a fall color, but I want it. My mom is trying to convince me to have the bridesmaid dresses a latte color, but I want a little bit of color in the wedding rather than just hues of brown. Any suggestions?

I am getting married this fall. My father passed away some years ago, grandparents are also passed. My mother and I have not spoken in years. Since this is my second wedding my idea was to have my pre teen son walk me down the isle. He is excited about the idea but we have been told that he should be a ring bearer and I should walk by myself. I feel that my son (only child) has been there for me every step of the way in our lives and he deserves this. Would this be appropriate?

I am writing thank you's and am stumped by how to sign off, i am uncomfortable signing 'love' and 'warmly'. Is 'Truly Yours' ok to go with, or is it to informal. I am trying to stay away with the fomality of 'sincerly'.

Ok its not for me--its for my husband!
I don't really want to subscribe to anything or pay for anyone to write it for me because we don't go to that many weddings! It would be a waste. Was there something at your wedding that you thought was great in your Best Man's speech? Any help appreciated. Don't want anything crude as the grandparents will be there! *L*
