My wedding colors are teal and dark chocolate brown. The bridesmaids are going to be wearing a chocolate brown dress with a teal sash. What color should the tuxes be? I don't think my fiance would feel comfortable wearing white- besides, he has a very light complexion.

Do traditional tuxes. Brown tuxes just look so much less formal. Great if you are having a more casual wedding, but not if it's an evening wedding. The groomsmen usually do not match the bridesmaids and most groomsmen PRAY DAILY that a bride who is having pink bridesmaids dresses does not pick out matching pink vests for them. They don't have to match exactly. Try another shade of brown. More on the bronze/gold or beige/maize side. I think those would look nice with black tuxes. Look at "champagne". Sometimes that is too shiny but sometimes it is more beige.

I let my groom pick on his own--I just made sure that he wasn't picking something like a Zoot Suit. They picked black tux with silver vests. (My dresses were turquoise rather than teal) A lot of vests just do not come in shades like brown though. Many are just black, white, and platinum--so it's going to really limit your choices if you want them to match. Plus most of the time, it will never really match anyway. Best to go with a complimentary color that isn't suppose to match. The camera really picks up a miss-match. In your case, I'd just have black and white on the groomsmen. If you want to make the groom stand out he can be opposite. Groomsmen-black vests. Groom-white vest. Or a black cumberbund.

It depends on the teal though. If it's a real dark teal...

comes in a dark teal--"oasis"--that is a nice teal that a groomsmen wouldn't mind wearing.

Or depending on the chocolate brown--you could pick kinda a bronze/chocolate herringbone.

either the champagne or the gold bamboo might go. you'd have to see them in person though.

That one has more brown options than any other I've seen.
Palamino, Espresso, Maize.

Check those out and see what you think of those. I took my dress into the store when my husband was trying on tuxes so that I could actually see the dress beside it. It helped A LOT!

Oh definitely have the men wear Chocolate Brown Tux. They are really nice. I saw groomsmen wearing that color at a wedding I attended and it was a change from the black. What I would do is have the boutineers dyed a teal color. Bridesmaids should have teal and white flower bouquets and a chocolate brown satin or velvet ribbon to tie the bouquet.

I think it would be nice to have the men in black tuxes with teal accessories. Then for the boutineers, have some brown accents there. I think the colors you have chosen sound beautiful!!! BTW...we aren't having any white either, besides my dress. Our colors are Pearl Pink and Peridot. The guys will all have black tuxes with the peridot accessories. and then pink in the roses they are wearing. BUT to set the groom apart, he will be wearing silver accessories. I have been told that will compliment the detail in my dress, and I do have a lot of detail and beading!!

Hope that helps :)

Get a trendy tux. One of the new styles and use a teal vest or cumberbun. White shirts not teal.

Have you considered black dresses with the teal sash? Black is a color that looks good on everyone. Brown will make anyone over the age of 30 look tired and haggered.

I know people that HATE when people mix brown and black. Wouldnt it be awful to have someone sitting in your wedding thinking "that doesnt look right"

even though it is your wedding and you can do what you want if your concerned with the above... im almost positive you could find brown tuxes.. and chocolate and blue look WONDERFUL together. i love that choice. good luck..

and congratulations on the wedding.

I think you could have the tuxes be black with teal cumber bun and bow tie and it would still look good.

Grey. Teal and brown don't match, so why should the tuxes?
