we ate a romantic dinner that night after the ceremony, and spent the night in our new place, with candles and wedding flowers all around. then the next day we spent the day in a canoe on a lazy river. you could go to an area park, or amusement park, and just save up for the big trip when you have more money. day trips are a good way to save money, b/c you don't have to pay for airfare, accomodations, rental car, etc. hey, you can always pack your lunch in a cooler, too.

We are not planning on going on a honeymoon after the wedding. We are financing the whole thing ourselves and it didnt fit into the budget. After the reception we just plan on going back home, to the same old bed (been together for 5 years). If we happen to come into some money from gifts then we might stay in a hotel for a night or two, but Im not stressing out about it.

We did a quick wedding planned in 4 days. Of course with such short notice a reception was hard to come by so we used a bar and their outdoor dining area, served finger food.
Our total wedding and reception cast apx. 3,000$. Actually is was great, no stress no fuss. We planned a honeymoon about 6 months latter for San Francisco, we stayed in a 4 star hotel booked on-line so the cost of our "honeymoon" was about 500$ all together (we live in LA).
The weekend after we were married we enjoyed ourselves...alone, walks on the beach-dinner out- and just shared the joy of our love together that weekend.
For us the wedding was a formality, we had been living together for 5 years prior.

I got married in Las Vegas and we spent three days there. I suppose you could say we didn't go anywhere for our honeymoon because we stayed where we got married. We did see shows and gambled and had some wonderful dinners in different restaurants. Only three days though and back to work. It cost me 50 bucks for the ceremony, tip and the works. This was in 1972... My wife ended up with a patch over both eyes because she had contacts in and back then they were the hard contacts. You had to take them out about every 6 hours to let your eyes breathe. She burnt holes in her eyes. We got home and the next day she was talking on the phone and dropped something on the floor. She still had the patches on and when she bent over to try and find what ever it was she dropped, she hit the counter and broke her nose. This was our honeymoon. We're still married today and I love her even more than I did then. I didn't think that was possible but it is.

We've been married for 5 1/2 years and have 2 kids, but no honeymoon yet. After we got married my husband had to go take a test (he was in college), and I went and had my last name changed on all important documents. Fun Fun! It doesn't matter what you do after the wedding as long as you love each other. I am just glad we get to spend the rest of our lives together.

We got married Sunday night New Years Eve the next day(Monday)we had our gift opening and stayed a second night to relax in the hotel. The next day(Tuesday) we returned unused alcohol and hung out with our children then started packing to move into our new house. We are planning on taking a big vacation on our 5 anniversary instead of a honeymoon the kids will be bigger and we would like to start going somewhere big ever year from then on(this is what my Aunt did too except they didn't have kids when they got married and they waited a little longer for the big trips)

We aren't going on a honeymoon after our wedding. We are getting married on the 30th. I think we will just go to a hotel room for the weekend...or we might go to a bed & breakfast...not sure.

We didn't go on a honeymoon - and I've regretted it ever since!
We did spend the remainder of the weekend hanging out with family - but, your a new husband and wife...go on a vacation - just the two of you - and celebrate!

My husband had to go back out to sea as soon as we got married so we didn't have a honeymoon. I didn't do much that weekend alone, lol.

We didn't (18 yrs and still waiting...)
After the ceremony, we went to have professional photos taken, then went to my mom's house for a bit of a break before the reception. Had reception, dinner and dance. Next morning up early for church, then to my mom's where she hosted the gift opening.
