Well, you probably have to make it PG if it's a teacher, so something appropriate. If she likes green things, maybe a nice vase with real or fake flowers would be nice? Or get her something with an inspirational saying (if she is positive) about marraige. Your best bet is to just go into some kind of gift shop and look for ideas because you know her the best. I guarantee something will catch your eye and you will know.

Good luck!

As a recent bride, I can only say DON'T get her a picture frame, scrapbook, photo album, etc. I don't mean to sound unsentimental or ungrateful, but I must've gotten about 50 of the above...as you can imagine, many had to returned.

But I digress. It's good that you know her favorite color and a little bit about her personality. You can then stay away from strictly wedding stuff, which might actually be a sort of relief to her - at times, I thought if I saw one more wedding-themed thing I was going to go batty. :) So how about a beautiful green pashmina shawl or a fancy set of personal stationery (i.e. thank you cards, note cards, etc) for example.

On the other hand, gift cards are always necessary, appreciated, and most importantly - USED! Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things and Target are all places a newlywed couple will surely appreciate a gift card from.

A choice, depending on your budget. Either something like a kitchen towel, pot holder set, or a gift card in the dollar amount of $15-$25. at the most. You could ask where she is registered (usually that is for wedding gifts tho), or ask her what she needs. Or wants. Take care.

I agree with goodgirl. My bridemaids gave me a shower 28 years ago and collected recipes from all invited. I still use some of those recipes today and have treasured them all these years.

Be sure to inform guests beforehand to bring a favorite recipe.
