It doesn't cost a lot to reduce it. However, if you've recently lost weight and that is why you are reducing, I would caution you. You can get a small sizer that will wrap or fit inside the band, to reduce the size, just in case you put any weight back on.
If it's just a matter of it was too large to start with, then only get it reduced to within a half size of your regular size...that way you shouldn't ever have to get it made larger in the future and it shouldn't be extra loose on your finger.

It depends on your ring. Does it have any diamonds or stones? If there are it will cost extra because they will have to take them out to resize it. If it is a plain gold band then it isn't going to cost more than $25-$30 dollars.

Here it doesn't cost that much at all. A local jewelry does it for I wanna say...under $20.
The jeweler where I got my band and rings at does it for free.

Less than $10. However, the place where the ring was bought usually does it free.

If you want to get it resized smaller, it should only cost their usual "fix it" fee. If you don't have to add metal to it, it is relatively cheap. Depending on where you go, it could be eight dollars or fifty.
Adding metal is the expensive part!

If it's a new one you are buying it shouldn't cost you at all, if it does buy else where. If just requiring resized shouldn't be very expensive.
