for the wedding besides putting money into a regular savings account? Is there anything else we can try? Any tips would be great.

Put both of you on a budget...minimize monthly expenses...don't eat out, cut down on monthly bills, anything you can do (even if it's just $20...that's still $20 towards the wedding). I would get a special account with both your names on it to put your money in...that way, once it is deposited, you don't touch it, unless it is going towards the wedding. If you get enough money together, you can put it in a medium term CD to get more interest than just with a saving account.

The best way is to cut back on going out, have a set amount come out of your check to go into your interest bearing savings, take a pt job and invest it, have a garage sale or sell things you no longer have a need for to a resale shop.I could go on and on. don't forget about brown bagging your lunch, downgrade to basic if any at all cable.Read others peoples magazines and newspaper. Anything will help. good luck

What i think is just get a little box. Every time you get payed put maybe 10%-50% of your check in it. You should have enough for fall. Keep your money in a safe place. That's what I did

Have a garage sale and get rid of things that you will have doubles of, of stuff you dont want ne more bc you want to have your own stuff together. At your rehersal dinner, (sometimes they can be formal) you can charge per plate, like 5-10$. Those are some ideas. Good Luck :)

Invest in stocks. Read Investment Business Daily for good stocks to buy (a daily financial newspaper). They are also on the web at www.investors.com. Be careful. Start by only using a small amount of money. Good Luck in your marriage and in your finances.
