Ceremony is at 2:00 p.m. in a Catholic church. Reception is 4-midnight at a country club. My boyfriend is the best man in the wedding. I believe the colors are brown (chocolate), and cream/white. I'm thinking a knee-length cocktail dress; not too flashy with some kind of wrap for the ceremony. Would black be alright or would that ne a no because the whole event starts in the afternoon? Before I knew the colors, I was thinking brown, but now I don't want to look like I'm trying to be a part of the wedding party.

My daughter is going to a wedding to help the parents watch the kids there. It is in the afternoon and she doesn't know what to wear. Should she dress more casual since she will be changing diapers and be playing with kids the whole time?

I wanted a more untraditional type of wedding dress. Perhaps something blue with a sheer white over it. Any thoughts or experiences?

I'm getting married September 15th, this year. We've been together for years, but don't live together. I know this is an odd things these days, but it's what we've done. We're to move in together right after we're married, and I don't really want to go on my honeymoon then. I'm more excited about the house and getting it all ready. It's going to be a lot of work, and I think it'll be an awesome way of spending our first week together married. Instead I think we should go on our honeymoon in January when it's FREEZING here in Ottawa, Canada. Well usually freezing :P ... My fiance thinks this is great. It's not that we don't have the money either, our honeymoon is to be a gift from my aunt and uncle to anywhere we want to go. Is this a weird thing though? Would you do it? Have you done it?

My dress is white with pink things going down the back bridesamids and MOH are in a light pink.i know i like the lillies. the bright pink ones, well the light ones too. Any ideas of what would look good together. And also what should i do? I know i dont want my bouquet to be huge but i want it to be different than all my attendants. I heard somewhere that your wedding ring has to be the same carat gold as your engagement ring or one could wear the other away.
Is this true?

I have only talked to his mother couple of times but for only about 2 mins because we both can never think of what to talk about and then have awkward silences which i soo hate. What can I do? They will be here a week before our wedding but I want to get to know them a lil more before that so it wont be as awkard....Hopefully........

I'd like some examples of custom wedding vows. Anyone write their own wedding vows? If so, what did they say? I just need some ideas, as I am not satisfied with the traditional: "In the name of God, I, __ take you, __ to be my wife/husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do us part. This is my solemn vow." All input welcome, thanks.

My niece wanted to sing "I hope you dance" by lee ann womack at her mom and stepdad's wedding as a tribute to her new family. Well she was told it's a sentimental song to me and my daughter, I don't care if she sings it, that's fine with me. Her mom told her no, pick something else. Does anyone have an suggestions on what she should sing? The genre doesn't matter!

I need dinner suggestions?? I've looked and looked at recipes online and can't seem to agree on anything. I need something quick and easy because we'll be getting back late. Something still impressive but safe so everyone will like it. Serving anywhere from 4-6 ppl. Possibly something I could even throw together ahead of time and cook later. Any suggestions or recipes??

I bought an A line dress with a sweet heart top for July, and they had me buy a corset and heavy slip for underneath. I feel the corset is unnecessary, I'm luckily in very good shape. My mom said with her dress she didn't wear one, and it was more expensive and fancier than mine (her wedding was an end of summer one). Can't I just wear a strapless bra? Also, she didn't have a slip as crazy as the one they gave me. I don't know if they gave me this stuff just to tack it onto the price. I got it a David's bridal. The dress already has three layers of fluff under it (I don't know what to call it), can't I just wear fancy panties underneath? I don't know what the true etiquette is. It's a floor length gown and it doesn't even need the extra fluff that the slip they gave me provides, it holds it on it's own. Help!
