We are wanting to run a wedding announcment after our wedding in the paper. Can someone provide me with a sample announcment? I really have no clue what's included & how it should all be worded. Thanks.

This is something we plan run in the newspaper, like an engagment announcment. We aren't doing actual mailed out announcments. :)

And more details. :)

The papers will run a whole page as long as I'm willing to pay for the space.

And while the paper have forms I can fill out for an engagment announcment, they don't have the same for a wedding announcment. They only accept those pre-written.

Mr and Mrs John Smith of New York City joyfully announce the marriage of their daughter Jane to Bob Jones, son of Mr and Mrs Henry Jones of Jersey City.
The couple were married on February 12th in Saint Marks chapel. The bride wore white satin surrounded by 3 bridesmaids wearing blue chiffon and carrying long stemmed ivory roses hand tied with ivory ribbons. The groom wore a traditional black tuxedo with Black tie. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos as well with Blue ties.
Celebrations included a family reception held at the Times Square Marriott and afterwards the couple honeymooned in Orlando Florida.
Mr and Mrs Bob Jones will reside in Manhattan.

This is honestly how its done, its no joke. They honestly do put descriptions of dresses and colors of flowers.

In a wedding announcement in the paper it gives the details a who what when where for the ceremony and reception. a short description of the dress (most bridal shops will give you a written detail of your dress, ask for one) the colors, style and mood of the event, where you went on your honeymoon could be added. The write up should be vivid enough that those who weren't lucky enough to go can picture the happy event clearly.

Read the paper that you will be printing the announcement in & base yours on one of those.

You need to check with the newspaper you intend to run this in. They each have their guidelines,. Some allow a full write-up, others only allow a few lines.
