I would say a longer skirt maybe and a nicer top but make sure that it is comfortable for her to take care of the children in.

She should ask the person who is asking her to help with the children what they want her to wear. If it's the bride and groom, or the wedding planner, they will have the proper response. Most times the child care provider will dress slightly more casual than the rest of the wedding guests. While not jeans and a t-shirt, some casual pants and a washable shirt would be appropriate. A nice dress, long enough not to ride up when she bends over, might also be appropriate. However, make sure that whatever she wears is machine washable, as she will get dirty over the course of the day.

How formal is the event and where will she be taking care of the children? If she is going to be seperate from other guests or not? If she is going to be around the other guests, then she needs to dress nice enough to fit in. I would be upset if someone was a guest, even if only to care for children, but then stood out because they were under dressed! People spend a fortune on this day and you don't want to bring it down because of someone's attire! Even the caterers will be wearing a white button up tux shirt and black pants (at the least). I would suggest because she is with children, ask the person who is taking her what they will be wearing first, then make a decision based on that. A longer skirt and a cute top would work or some black pants and a dressier top! I wish I could say that she could wear anything, but it really depends on the level of formalness of this event! Bottom line: you dont' want her to stnad out as the casual, uderdressed guest! Good luck and check with the mother of the kids for her opinion!

I think a nice pair of dress pants, and a nice button up shirt or a cute cardigan combo would be OK. Maybe even a nice pant suit. You don't want to be to dressed up or down. You can go to Ross or TJ MAX and find something nice for little money just in case something does happen to the outfit. If it doesn't cost too much, you won't feel so bad if it gets stained or something.

If the wedding is in the daytime, you can never go wrong with a cute Summer Dress! If it's in the evening a long simple flowing dress would be nice.

You really should call the bride to check. I would tend to say she should wear a dress to the ceremony, but have an outfit to change into so she can actually watch kids comfortably.

well for a start she definately cannot wear a long dress as she will look like a bridesmaid!
why not wear a nice knee length skirt with a cheap but fancy top.. then it doesnt matter if it gets a bit mucky! you could even get 2 tops so that if it does get really dirty she can change it :)
tell her to have fun! x

She should still wear a dress, since she will be at a wedding. Something simple.

have her wear slacks and a button up shirt or a skirt and a shirt. She still needs to dress nice, even if she is just helping out with the kids, but you do not want to over do it.
