I didn't invite her to my wedding. I only invited one of my co-workers. The wedding's going to be pretty small (40-50 people), and we're paying for the whole thing ourselves, so cost is definitely an issue. The other issue is that my boss specifically asked that I NOT mention the wedding to the clients. It really bothered me that she said that, especially since that's pretty much the only thing some clients want to talk about (I work at a famously "chatty" gym).

So now the boss is calling my (invited) co-worker to ask if she should have gotten her invitation by now.

How do I deal with this?

I am getting married in June 2007. My dress is ivory and my fiance's vest is going to be ivory. My MOH's dress is lilac as is the Best man's vest. My BM's dresses are celadon as is the Groomsman's vests.

My question is: I want my Dad's vest to match everyone elses. What color should he wear....ivory? I didn't really want him to match the wedding party.....or my fiance' as far as color goes. My wedding planner is throwing in some yellows and pinks in the flowers to give it more color. Should I get him and our pastor to match....maybe throw in a yellow or pink vest too? Thanks for your help!!

dear all, i need your help....have you ever had problems about deciding where to live once you get married?i mean, how did you deal with a situation in which one partner wants to go back to his hometown (very little town) and live in his cousin's empty house...namely, i agreed with my fiance that we would not leave this city and rent an apartment HERE. Suddenly he comes and says that his cousin in his hometown offered him to live in his house for free until he gets a bank loan to buy an apartment. my fiance was thrilled with the idea.however, for me it is a TRAGEDY to go to work from one city to another town because i work 12 hours a day and dont want to sit and chat with the entire family of his that would out of boredom come and sit with us in the evenings. i would be for nothing after work. however, now he says i didnt give enough arguments. i told him i would be unhappy and really unhappy. now he is not answering the phone, he told me that he will not be the first one to call :(

My fiance invited a "friend" to be in our wedding. She went to dress shops with me and helped pick out a dress. She palled around with me and was going to be one of my bride's maids. Keep in mind that there are many pictures taken at weddings (she would be in a lot of them) I later found out that they had a fling b4 I came into the picture. But however when the fling took place she was not single like he was. She is a married woman and she cheated on her husband while he was having surgery! They both kept this secret from me and when I found out about it I was very angry because if I had not found out, we would have gotten married and she would be in all those wedding pictures which are not cheap. I was so upset that I called off the wedding... but however I'm still with him. What would you do if you were in a situation like this????

Ok, so I agreed to be the maid of honor for my friend, but all of the other bridesmaids live on the otherside of the country and I don't know them at all. My friend is a bit of a diva and I know she expects a nice bridal shower and bachlorette party, but I can't afford to pay for everything by myself. Normally, the other bridesmaids would help out at least alittle, but they won't be around until a few days before the wedding. Do I hit them up for money anyway, or go into major debt just to keep the bride happy? I already have a shower planned & invites have been sent. I'll be spending about $500. Am I on the hook for a bachlorette party too??? Any cheap suggestions???

does anyone ever feel pressured to have their husband-to-be's sister as a bridesmaid? Even if you hate her guts? Just a general question, not for anything in particular.

I am purchasing chair covers for my reception. My issue is to buy them only for head table and reserved tables or cover every chair. The chairs the hall have are plastic and better then metal, but I am unsure if I want to pay for all the chairs to be covered. Will it look funny if I do only a few tables to signify them as reserved?

I am looking for the average price of a traditional/simple buffet. I am looking for general prices so that I can compare a few catering companies on my area. I think the prices are slightly higher than average, so I wanted to check it out.

I'm all for expressing individuality and I generally don't care what people think as long as they're not going out of their way to be rude and offensive, but I'm curious as to why some people get so upset about this? Do they prefer cookie cutter weddings that are identical to everyone else's or is "doing something unique" meant to be something very subtle (like wearing ivory instead of stark white for example) that wouldn't even be noticed by most? Why is individuality such a taboo thing that people feel the need to tell someone their wedding will be ruined based on the choices they make simply becasue they don't agree with them?

My fiance and I already live together and we are having trouble deciding what to do on the wedding night. We already know the obvious activities. The question is WHERE? Going home would be dull, and going to a hotel would be pointless. What do people normally do? What is something original to do?
