I've been chosen by a good friend to be her maid of honor for her wedding, but I am a man, and we can't come up with the right word for me.

Man of Honor?
Best Man-Maid?
Footman of Honor?
Best Footman?
Bride's Butler?

Serious and humorous suggestions are most welcome. Random and inapt comments are a waste of everyone's time.

what do you think should be spent on an engagement ring? i know i know, "you cant put a price on love", blah , blah, blah........
I've heard mention of th eequivalent of 3 months salary. I just got one that cost what my guy makes in less than a week! And he spends more on drugs and booze and smokes in a month than he did on me!! Double!!! anyone have any good thoughts?

My husbands father just passed away, his wife is a very nice lady who will be bombarded with flowers, I was wondering would it be innapropriate to send a gift/food basket instead of flowers, that was filled with morning breakfast/coffee items, instead of traditional fruit....I'm thinking, she doesn't need more flowers that are going to have to be thrown away in a while, it is winter where she is so a plant isn't practical, and traditional funeral type plants/flowers she will get so many, what does anyone think on this, greatly appreciated.....

What do you get the people that have everything!! Like, we are invited to this wedding this upcoming weekend and we are on a budget so I don't want to seem cheap, but I don't want to blow all our money ($50 bucks max.) This couple is about my age (20-25) and are already millionaires, it's sad that the brides' parents passed away and that's how they got the money, but that is the matter of the fact and they do have everything! I want something cool and cute that they would really like and not even really think of a dollar value when they open it. Any help?? Thanks!

I told my boyfriend that i would love to get married July 7,2007 but he tells me that his friend is getting married that day and he ask him to be the best man. So we can't get married. What should I do. His friend is not even his best friend. His best friend already got married and my boyfriend was the best man. Do you think is fair if he picks his friend over me.

Has anybody 'spoken up' as to why a bride/groom should NOT get married, or been at a wedding where somebody has done that? I see it in movies, but wonder if it happens in real life?

On a 1 caret solitaire round diamond ring, is it better to have 6 prongs or 4 prongs? I think that the 4 prongs looks a lot better, I think that they show the diamond better. But is it easier to lose a diamond in the 4 prong setting.

I am chasing some ideas for little things that may add to the fun of getting ready the morning of the wedding. We have to go to the Hairdresser and Make up artist, I though about taking champers with, so we could all have a drink while we are having our hair done. Any other ideas? Please help, its this weekend.

My fiance wants me to have a white gold 1 caret solitaire ring but I like the plain gold better. Which do you think will look best? I have light skin. Does my ring have to match his? Is it ok for his wedding ring to be white gold and mine to be plain gold?

I am getting married. Should I take his name Prunés. His name is correctly pronounced like Prun-a. It is french but every one pronounces it Prunes. My last name is Weeks. Which do you think is better. We are both about to graduate college and we are both going to be teachers. I think that it might be easier for our students to pronounce Weeks. What do you think?

A "friend" who I had not seen in 2 years, spoken to in about 1 year, and emailed an occassional "hi" recently got married. When she gave her list to her soon to be sister-in-laws they invited me to the bridal shower, which I went to and brought a nice gift. While at the bridal shower it became apparent that I was the only one who was not "in the loop" and I soon learned that the wedding was the next week and was a private ceremony in the bahamas, but that a reception was planned after the bride & groom returned. After the bridal shower my friend pulled me to the side and said she felt bad that she hadn't invited me to the reception/brunch but she hadn't spoken to me in a while, yadda yadda yadda-whatever! She then said she would love for me and my husband to come. A few days later I recieved my mercy invite in the mail and I kindly declined. A few days ago I recieved a card announcing thier marriage. Am I know supposed to send a gift?

Does this qualify as a "replacement" present? Or should she get a birthday present too? And does this make the guy selfish for taking away the fun of 'her' day to now make it 'their' day? As in people will not so much say "happy birthday" to the gal, but 'congrats' to both?
