Arranged marriage. It seems to come with more realistic expectations, including the expectation that the couple will grow to love each other, there is some work involved in creating a good marriage, and marriage involves both families.

Ideally, older and wiser parents will use their experience and their knowledge of their children's personalities and needs in order to arrange wise marriages for them.

However, it is difficult, if not impossible, for someone who has grown up expecting a love marriage to accept an arranged marriage.

Arranged marriages now a days are different than the past from what I am told. In the old days - you really had no idea who she was until you married. Now, usually you talk before you get married to see if you like each other a little. Or something like that.

But, all in all I prefer a Love Marriage. Yes, nowadays more love marriages end in divorce than Arranged Marriage I heard. But, I think I would hate the idea of being married to someone I didn't love!!!!

I mean, can you imagine being a girl and giving up your viginity to a guy you don't love??? What if the marriage didn't work out - ugh what torture for her? Sorry, I am all for Love Marriage.

Good luck!

Love marriage every time, I would rather choose who I get to spend the rest of my life with. However this isn't to say that arranged marriages don't work, my friend had one and she did meet the guy before hand and she did get to know him and they got married and they are happy. Both said that the love part came later

both. indian cultures in particular go for arranged marraige, whereas even indians raised abroad prefer love marraige. my advice regarding the issue is if your parents want you to investigate an arranged marraige, at least look into it. if you completely ignore the possibility, they will make you feel guilty for the rest of your life, especially, if the love marraige doesn't work out. If you at least agree to meet the girl, who knows? you could be pleasantly surprised.

good luck, desi bro!

I personally am marrying for love...however, I have had friends in college who had arranged marriages and they haven't been happier!! They are very much in love with their husbands and have been married for well over 4 years by now...it depends on the person, really.

we are a love marriage, but if an arranged marriage is what you are accustomed too, then you can learn to love, but if they are a prick get out of there
