we originally planned a lavish wedding but due to skyrocketing costs and demanding families we'd like to move our wedding to vegas! but my question is we're doing an open invitation a whoever wants to come can come type thing so do we have a shower or not? i know you're only supposed to invite people who are invited to the wedding to the shower but we're inviting whoever wants to come so i have no idea! thanks for any and all help!

I am getting married this Sunday and I can't decide on a song for my father and I to dance to. I am thinking about I loved Her First by Heartland, but I think it might be too sad and I will hyperventilate during our dance, Can any of you think of a song that is not a compete tear jerker?

My Bride to be designed her own dress and had it made by a couturier. The dress alone took months to hand embroider and bead. The Bridemaids' dresses are also an individual design.

In order to keep costs down, we had our wedding clothes, (Bride's dress, Bridesmaids, Groom and Groomsmens) made overseas.
This went well, but they have been "mispleaced" by the courier company.

We had our invitations sent from overseas with the same company. So we didn't think twice about using them again.
The package is insured, but how can we replace the clothes in such a short amount of time?

I know we can use any other clothes as substitutes, but the original designs were supposed to be that extra special something that would make our wedding different from others.

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

My wedding is in 2 weeks and 5 days and right now the decorations for the reception are crazy. I just this week figured out what I want the decorations to look like. My boyfreinds mother and I agreed on what the centerpieces were to look like. I just found out yesturday that she changed them with out advising me first. She is making decisions without me. She told my boyfriend it is because i took too long to tell her what i wanted. What do i do?!?

Dec 10 2006 is the wedding date here in Willis (about 45 minutes from downtown houston. I am thinking of hiring a lady that plays the harp. She said she will charge me a flat fee of $400 for ceremony and 1 hour of reception. My boyfriend says that is a lot. I want to know what are normally the rates for piano. I checked the directory and they charge about $350 for playing on the keyboard. Is $400 a lot for a harp? Is it loud enough for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Please write your suggestions.

HELP!

I have to give a speech at my best friend's wedding Saturday. I want it to be fun and sweet (but not romantic and cheesy, not my style) any suggestions? (No poems please. I could not read that for my sake or the bride's, she'd kill me.)

FYI- My speech has to be good. Here's why. The groom's friends all decided they were going to quit on him about a week ago. He got some guys to fill in, but none close enough to give a speech. My dad is getting remarried in 2 weeks to the women he had an affair with and left my mum for 8 years ago. My mum and dad only divorced this year however.
