I'm the maid of honor, and I know the things I would like to say, but is there a certain format or order that things should be said? How long should the speech be? Do I have to give a speech at all? HELP!

I have done a couple maid of honor speeches and I usually follow this general guideline that I learned in college. Begin with a funny or endearing story (funny is usally best) about the bride and yourself. Then speak briefly about your past with the bride and what you love about her. Then speak about the groom. You can say what you like about him, how he treats the bride, etc.. Then conclude with good luck wishes to them both or say something about how great they'll be together. Toast "to and !." This speech can be brief (one or two written pages) and make sure it's from the heart. In summary:
1. Intro Story
2. Paragraph about bride
3. Paragraph about groom
4. Good luck wishes
Good luck to you! Feel free to write it and read it. Nobody will care and you'll remember the whole thing!

I have been in your position several times and what I did was write a poem about love you can also barrow one from a great love poem book. it should not be too long just a few minutes other wise people will get Bord with it. Then always say that the love in the poem reminds me of the love you two share with each other and i hope you have a life time together and continue to love one another forever.
you can go to poetry.com to help you search.
