My Bride to be designed her own dress and had it made by a couturier. The dress alone took months to hand embroider and bead. The Bridemaids' dresses are also an individual design.
In order to keep costs down, we had our wedding clothes, (Bride's dress, Bridesmaids, Groom and Groomsmens) made overseas.
This went well, but they have been "mispleaced" by the courier company.
We had our invitations sent from overseas with the same company. So we didn't think twice about using them again.
The package is insured, but how can we replace the clothes in such a short amount of time?
I know we can use any other clothes as substitutes, but the original designs were supposed to be that extra special something that would make our wedding different from others.
Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I've been overwhelmed at the amount of good advice offered to me.
You will be happy to know that the package has been found, and on it's way to our front door as we speak. *crosses fingers*
Thankyou all and I will post pictures from our wedding when it happens on 26/11on 360.

Use other clothes if you have to. If you find the dresses or get them re-made you can always take pictures in them just for the memory. but don't worry, the wedding is in 5 weeks, I'm sure everything will turn up.

Wow, and I thought we had it bad when it came to our wedding - one of our bridesmaids dresses came in too small and it was too late to re-order her another one and the owner was the one who had measured her. I was really mad. I called up there and said I am getting married in less then a month and one of my bridesmaids don't have a dress and you told her not to try the dress on in the store and you measured her. She said bring the dress up here and the owner fixed the dress, she made it larger.
My advice is to call the company don't be whiny but sound like you are the boss, let them know that it is there mistake and you want it fixed now! They need to find the dresses, and have them overnighted at no extra cost to you. I would be on the phone night and day if I have to. They have no excuses. Do you have a receipt or anything from where you have paid? If so make sure you keep that so you have it just in case. You may need that in case you never receive it you can sue them if it comes down to it. Let them know that Customer Service should be number 1 and if they don't get that dress to you before your wedding then you won't ever use them again and you will spread the word of bad news. Good luck to you and I hope it all works out!

First off sorry to hear of your news how said i would contact the company who lost your brides dress they are responsible so they should be held responsible to find you another dress whatever it takes that looks as close to the origional as possible or they should pay to have it redone if time allows and shipped to you for free i would kick up a stink i am not sure how this will help but hope it turns out for you guys i know the dress seems like the biggest deal i had to settle when it came to my dress because they sent the wrong size in my dress i was not an aggressive person and let it pass and just picked one off the shelf wish i had of pushed the issue more. Good luck.

How unfortunate is that? Could it be that they will be there in time? If not, as you said you can get something else. Remember it isn't about the dresses really and if you can focus on the reason you are there I think it would help. A good friend of mine had her nephew run into something and had a huge black eye on the wedding day and all he said was "I want everyone to look at my beautiful bride" so try and make the best of a bad situation. Congrats.

You really need to contact the company or the shipping company. They should be able to track where your packages are. Find out what compnay they used to ship your things and contact them. You really do not have much choice but to get married in something else if they do not arrive on time. Keep contacting every one every way possible till you get a straight answer and the dresses. Good luck. You could always get maried in something else and when the dresses arrive have another ceremony with the them and more pictures. You will get to celebrate twice. Sorry about this.

making your bridal party unique is not an option at this late date.
you might be able to get something unique for your flowers if your vendor allows late changes.
Hopefully your package was insured enough to cover your entire bridal party expense. If not are your bmaids and gmen willing to shell out more money on your wedding? If they are I suggest finding a seamtress and have some simple dresses made for the wedding and try to keep the added expense less than $120 a piece for your maids if this is coming out of their pockets again. for the guys rent some reasonable tuxs.

You really need to contact that company. That really sucks and I'm sorry about that.
First thing, if your bride to be needs a dress I have a brand new wedding dress with tags still on it that I would be willing to sell to you guys. It's beautiful. I had it sold to someone but it ended up not fitting her. If you want pictures I can send them. What size is she? If you're interested, email me.
Second, you can always go to an "off the rack" bridal store and get bridesmaids dresses. Of course they're not going to be what you origianlly wanted, but you can find something nice. David's Bridal, if you have one near you, is an "off the rack" store meaning you can pick something and they usually have it in multiple sizes on hand. If they don't they can get it to you in a matter of days.
Hope this helps!

so sad that people would take advantage of you.
with the insurance money you should go out and find new clothes. of course it can't replace the other ones. if your package is found after the wedding then plan a party the following year and wear the clothes then.

If you're going to have to get a new dress, do so NOW. 5 weeks is about enough time for you to order something and have it fitted at a reputable store.

have new clothes made if you can, and then after the wedding you can sue the original company for the cost of the old clothes plus the new ones you had made, since it was their fault you had to have them made again.
