Try not to get knick-knacks. After 10 years I'm sure they have a lot of stuff, maybe even doubles of things! Gift certificates to a favorite restaurant (and call the maitre'd and tell them the occasion, they'll get special treatment), or a hot air balloon ride? Something memorable, not something to collect dust.

If they have kids, a night out on you. Gift certificate to a nice restuarant, movie tickets and free babysitting. My sister in law gives this to my husband and I every year for Christmas. Well, she's having my niece in January, so guess what she's getting this Christmas!! It is the BEST gift.

An achievement award LOL!!! No really, a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant is good. They will remember that one.
