I love the impending "burnt" colors of autumn...

Deep orange, burgundy, and gold/yellow would be beautiful in a bouquet. You can dress the girls in green (forest green would be awesome) to represent the last of summer and the flowers could be your explosion of color to welcome the fall.

All of these colors will be gorgeous against your wedding dress; whether your dress is white, ivory, cream, khaki, oatmeal, etc. -- it will be beautiful!

Congratulations!

Choosing the theme of a wedding is the fun part of the planning.

I had Peach as it was my Favorite colour.

I also like Cornflower Blue. This would look great in August.

Avoid Lilac as I have notice this seems to look grey in the photos.

Think about your bridesmaids, and what colour will suit them.

Also have a look at the men's options, and see if that gives you any inspiration.

Last week I went to a wedding and the theme was blue and white as the Groom is a Sheffield Wednesday fan.

Good Luck

Depends on your location. I had an outside evening wedding (this August in fact) and used deep red and white. They were easy colors to find, matched the flower gardens around the site, and my bridesmaids all looked excellent in red carrying rose and stargazer lilly bouquets. If you will be inside, consider the location's color scheme first.

We are getting married in the summer too and I am going with lavendar, deep purple, wedding white and silver. I think lighter colors go better in the summertime. It really depends on what you like. I just went with my favorite color and built off of that. Surprisingly, my fiance is fine with my choices, as you wouldn't think a man would like any variation of purple. But again, I just think it depends on what you like! Have fun planning! Hey a really good website to start using if you haven't already is weddingchannel.com. It has a ton of planning tools and you can built your own wedding website. It has really helped us out in the last few months because it has everything on it you could possibly need to plan your perfect wedding.

Well, I think it depends on the time of day of the wedding, but a friend just had a dark chocolate theme and contrary to what I expected, it was very beautiful. The chocolate bridesmaids dresses were elegant and chic. Check out the davidsbridals.com website for some ideas.

I love Gold in the fall. You can accent it nicely with creams or pick a bolder fall colour like an emerald green or burgundy. An August wedding is a great time to use ALL the fall colours in your decorations by using Mums to decorate (also cheap) lots of leaves, apples and natural, earthy things.

I was in a wedding in August and her colors were black, white and silver. It may sound odd, but it was so classy!!! Our dresses were beautiful and very elegant.

I was in another wedding in August (8 years ago) and our dresses were burgundy, which was super pretty too.

The August birthstone is peridot, so light green is very appropriate. Plus, that way you've already got an idea for favors and wedding party gifts!

I would use bright colors--bright flowers. August is a fun month! It's the last month of summer and people want to enjoy it. For bridesmaid dresses I'd do yellows, pinks, blues--something light and fun!

Congrats on your wedding.

I guess I think of August as still being summer. Fall colors are for Sept and Oct. Use summer colors.
