I have been going out with my boyfriend for 17 months now and it seems like he is never going to commit. At about 6 months he had said that he wants to get married, so I kind of guessed the question would be popped soon after, but I'm still waiting. He now says that he is not ready and he would feel guilty moving away from home because his parents and grandparents need a lot of help around the house and farm. I know that is really sweet, but sometime he needs to realize that he can't be there to help them for the rest of their lives. Any ideas on how to give him a little shove towards the marriage idea? I want to spend the rest of my life with him, but it seems like we are never going to get married.

I am getting married on Oct.5 2007. I wanted to use all different shades of pink in the BM bouquets. I was also thinking that I wanted the BM dresses to be a really pretty color of fushia and the dresses to be tea length. Do you think this would look to summerish and out of place? I need suggestions....i was going to do red but my friend got married last year almost on the same day so I dont want to do the same thing. please help I am open to any suggestions you might have thank you!!!

Do you think its tacky to ask your relatives for donations to help with the cost of having a very small wedding?

max: 40 ppl

Right now, we do not have alot of money. I have a job and my boyfriend owns his own business, but its relatively new. We want to get married in december and invite only immediate family and friends. Will they be able to help cover some of the cost of the ceremony?

As our wedding date approaches, we area realizing that we have a lot of the little details to worry about.

Gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Gifts for the ushers, etc. And the parents. Oh the parents!

Here's the question: Why is it customary to give parents gifts? It was originally included in the wedding budget, which would mean they would buy their own gifts.

I'm not really looking for gift ideas, really. If you want to give ideas, that's great; just know that it's not my intent to find ideas.

If you go to a Wedding Shower and buy a gift ( you spend $ 75 -100) are you supposed to bring another gift to the wedding? and if the answer is Yes does it have to be at the same value.
It's getting expensive to go to wedding these days.

We are getting married next weekend but his mom annoys me every day.She calls everyday, including weekends,at least 3 times a day.Her phone call usually interrupts our weekday evenings & weekend days & evenings. She lives in NY and we live in CA but she calls us between 11am - 11:30pm our time, meaning, she often calls us at 2:30am her time. I find that sick. She even calls us while we are on vacation. Once when we were on a vacation in Kyoto,we intentionally didn't give her our hotel number but she tracked us down by randomly calling the hotels in Kyoto! For 4 years (since we started living together) we had our home phone's ringer off because of this.We also keep our cell phone on 'silent' mode when we can.I know she also calls him at work which makes him look unprofessional. It's not like she is living alone and lonely.I asked my fiance to discuss this with her but he said she is not a logical person and won't understand and refuses to deal with it.How can I make him talk to her?

My best friend is getting married in October. I am her maid of honor. Because of that, I have been involved in quite a bit of the wedding process: dress picking, planning, bridal shower, etc.

Anyway, lately I have been envious of her. I am in a long-term relationship (Been friends with the guy about 2 years and dated about a year, and now live together.) and really feel this urge of wanting to get engaged.

Note: My relationship is great. I'm really happy, and I had a LONG talk with my boyfriend last night and he says he wants to marry me, but wants to be able to (financially) support me before he does.

He also said something that I thought was odd. He said that all (single) women go through wedding envy when someone close to them gets married, and that he expected to hear it a lot sooner than now.

My questions are:

Does every girl get wedding envy? Is it normal?

And, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fight these feelings? I feel like a moron and want to be rid of them.

Yesterday during our conversation my girlfriend said to me that the thing she most likes about me is that I am sweet and humble! What does it mean when a girl says this? Is it a good thing? For some odd reason I am wondering whether she will lose interest if I stop being funny and if she will become bored of me?

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

the eastern style of marraige, and that is never daiting , and fixed marraige between the perants of the bride and the perants of the groom , the bride sees the groom then talks to him for few days in her house then tell her perants her answer wich is yes or no to marry him, and if it yes there well be 5 celebrations,
1- to ask for her hand infront of her family and his family(the closest members),
2- to make a party mostly for the relatives of the bride and a little of grooms close relatives.2-3 hours
3-a partty called"henna" wich is for speciall cultural people.
4-the big day, the huge weddding party and the candels and the mens speciall dance and the wedding stays 3-4 hours .
5- a small party after wedding were the relatives of the bride gives the bride money as a gift.
and ya i forgut about the mens party wich happens at night out side drinking only coffeand doing speciall dancing, and cutting the grooms hair as a new life beggining
its beauty, i have been to 6 of them

OK- here is the deal. We can only invite 150 which we are cutting people left and right to get under the limit. It's like $75 a head. I am paying for my own wedding. My parents have NO money, my mother is out of work and my father hurt himself and recently just went back to work so they are behind on all their bills. My Dad has 9 brothers and sisters. I was only going to invite the two my dad's brothers that I have contact with and know. My mother is fighting with me that It's rude and I need to invite all of them. Granted I would say about half won't show but even if 5 of them show that 10 people = $750.00 I don't even really care for that side of the family plus his one brother's son just got married and I wasn't invite to their wedding! I know it's my wedding and I can do what I want but how should I handle this? Suck it up and just invite them to save face? Make my mother feel bad about herself and ask for money to cover them? Just ingore her and do what I want but

We purchased the Crane Ecruwhite DIY wedding program kit and downloaded the Word "templates" that come with it. They come with no instruction, our printer won't print them correctly, and now we're being told by Kinko's that we need to buy a NEW printer -- so much for saving money. Please help -- do you have the secret to make our HP printer print the 7.25"x10.5" programs?

My fiance had a very dark charcoal suit that I'm encouraging him to wear to attend my uncles wedding. I've told him that charcoal is acceptable for the wedding but I'd like some other opinions. Since my dress will be soft garnet, we were thinking about getting a garnet shirt for him to wear...let me know what you think!
