I'm the best man in well a friends wedding and I was wondering what are some good ideas? I live in Stockton, CA and there is nothing here to do...I think. Everybody will have a car though so we can go someplace else. He doesn't want to do the stripper thing and we have guests that will be under 21, (but over 18 of course) Thing is I have never done anything like this before! This is my first wedding and I'm the best man! Help!!

How 'bout a small bus (or large van) to take everyone to SF or Oakland for a trip to Hooters and a baseball game. (Or if it's in the fall, a football game.) You guys can party and drink all you want, the ride home will be safe, and you'll be sober when you get back.

Usually the guys just hang out at somebody's apartment or rent a party room from a hotel... Normal fair is to have lots of food and drinks. Watch an action or sexy video. If you want to video tape any of this for future reference, then video the part where old friend toast the groom and recall embarrassing moments of the past.

If things get any wilder than that you better check with the folks in charge (get the groom's or bride's okay). When my brother got married the bride checked with the Best Man to make sure we didn't have strippers, prostitutes, or any women at all. We wanted to do something crazy to embarrass the groom and celebrate this day and she agreed that we could conduct a mock rehearsal of the wedding, and she agreed that we could use my brother to play her role. Still, she would decide what we could use, and she supplied the clothes (a bridesmaid dress).. My brother didn't know anything about this until the party, and was a good sport. It got a lot of laughs. If you try that you need the support of the bride and a groom that's pretty laid back.

A bachelor party can be whatever will be fun for all the guys involved. It could be go to a ballgame, a race, or just the guys hanging out somewhere. The parents of my new son-in-law rented a house on the lake for the rehearsal dinner, so after the rehearsal, we all pitched in and turned into a bachelor party pad. We left all the guys there with beer, snacks, a cake(with a ball and chain theme) and little goody bags. Someone provide all different kinds of movies, some clean action and some dirty ones.
The guys all spent the night, so no one was driving.
If the groom likes to drink, do some bar hopping, get him a funny t-shirt that says last night of freedom. There are stores on the web, where you can order all the guys shirts and hats. You could have a poker party. Whatever the groom is into...just be with him and laugh and have a good safe time. Make sure he doesn't get too drunk and he's at the church on time. Don't forget the rings..Do something fun, it doesn't have to be expensive or thrill seeking, main purpose is it's his last night as a unmarried man with his buds. So, don't put so much pressure on yourself, and you are going to be fine. Ask some of the others guys for ideas, if you get stuck. Remember have at the church on time, dressed, and the rings.......
God bless us all...................

I would get a hotel suite (it is better than your own house because no one will be driving and you don't have to clean) and buy a case of beer, some liquor and mixers, and a ton of junk food. Then all go out to see the kind of stupid movie that your wife would kill you for wasting money on and come back to party, play video games/poker, and ESPN. Just do what you would normally do on a guys night out, but a more extreme version.

Have fun!

It depends on what you and the groomsmen can afford to spend.

Maybe reserve the party room at a local restaurant, and serve burgers and beer, or if someone has a backyard, have a bachelor's BBQ. I know of one bachelor party that was actually a weekend-long camping trip for the guys. Or, what about bowling?!

Go to an apartment...yours maybe? Drink beer, play poker, watch violent movies, and eat things the new wife wouldn't approve of (example: I can't have strawberries, so my hubby-to-be is going to eat strawberries for the bachelor party).

You don't have to go extreme to have a great time!

maybe find out some of the grooms interests...is he into racing, sports, paintballing...& maybe set something up that way.

i have a friend that had some minors at their party so they rented a lake cabin & that way they didn't have to worry about anyone getting busted or having to drive & just watched movies & played games
