I am getting married on Oct.5 2007. I wanted to use all different shades of pink in the BM bouquets. I was also thinking that I wanted the BM dresses to be a really pretty color of fushia and the dresses to be tea length. Do you think this would look to summerish and out of place? I need suggestions....i was going to do red but my friend got married last year almost on the same day so I dont want to do the same thing. please help I am open to any suggestions you might have thank you!!!

Well.....it depends on what you like. I think pink is beautiful color in the spring, summer but personally I wouldn't use it for the fall. On the other hand there are a few colors you can put with pink to give a "fallish" look. Pink and chocolate brown has been very popular in the last few years. In my opinion pink and chocolate brown looks great in the fall. Below is a few pink and chocolate brown pictures so you can see what it may look like together. Good Luck.

It will not look too summerish at all. Tea length would be beautiful and so are the colors. If it is chilly where you live in October, then take care of that with the style of the dresses. Don't worry about the colors, they will be perfect. Have you considered having the BMs wear gloves? I love gloves with tea length dresses and you should be able to find a pale pink that will match the pink in the bouquets.

It will look very beautiful. Good luck and best wishes.

Pink flowers are great for any season. I've seen a lovely fall wedding where the dresses where chocolate brown and the girls carried pink flowers. It was very unique and pretty.

I'd shy away from the fuschia, though, mainly because that color will not look good on your bridesmaids. Tea length is fine, if the wedding is indoors. But it depends on the color. Fuschia tea length would probably be too summery. Brown, red, yellow, or dark blue tea length would be just right for fall.

Think to yourself for a moment, "what color would be my #1 choice"...........................OK, is that color in your mind? No buts, no-she had that, no-is this appropriate for that time of year. It's your big day, do what you want the most without any outside considerations. It doesn't matter about anything else. Even if your friend had red, do red anyway if that's your first choice. Maybe a couple people at your wedding may have been at hers, but 98% weren't there to see her wedding to compare it to yours. Hopefully this will be your only wedding, so you want everything to be exactly as you dreamed it to be. Otherwise down the road you may look at your photos and think, "Gee I wish I would have picked those other dresses instead". My best wedding planning advice is to pick whatever you want and don't let anyone else talk you out of it. A lot of friends and family will make a lot of suggestions you don't want, just tell it like it is and leave it at that. Congratulations and Best Wishes!!!

Funny enough, Im having the same dilemma. Im getting married Oct 14. 2007 and I want to use Blush Pink / Chocolate Brown with tea length gowns as well....

One suggestion I saw was to use lush fabrics (i.e. Velvet).

Im probably going to have a pink dress with a brown velvet belt/sash.

For my reception Im going to have Brown Velvet Table Runners and at the ceremony Im having a Brown Aisle runner; Everything else will pretty well be pink!

So I threw in some "autumn" touches as well as the bright colour!

Hey, it's your wedding - you can have it your way! Maybe to make it look less "summerish" you could find deeper shades of pink like dusty rose. The fushia might be just fine - that color has so many variations that I can't begin to imagine what it'll look like.

If you want to be daring, I've seen orange done in October with sucess. Not "jack-o-lantern" orange, but something softer, and usually combined with tans and sages. *shrug* just a thought. (I still say do what you want!)

I would definitely use pink in a fall wedding along with a deep fall color. I see nothing wrong with it. The bottom line is use the colors you like. I think the colors pink, brown accented with gold will look beautiful. These colors allows you to have a Fall look with a little pink excitement (pink is suppose to be an exciting color). The photos that one of the posters provided was great. I found more that will look nice. Please let us know what color you decide to go with. Good Luck and congratulations

I think you can pull the pink - I like the answer that suggests using the lush fabrics (velvet). Another option is to mix in some jewel-tone purple and use darker shades of green. The pink will jump at you and the background complimentary colors will convey fall without being out of place.

Choose the colors you want. It doesn't matter what time of year.

I just realized last week that my colors ended up being Valentinesy for a September (29 days away) wedding. I thought the "apple red" was so fall, but next to my white dress...heh...Cupid may as well be walking me down.

Have a great time. Oh! and Best Wishes.

Instead of "Christmas in July" have a "Spring in October" wedding. What a wonderful contrast! Most people will be expecting the fall colors. Can you imagine their surprise and delight to see Springtime when they walk into the church?! Make sure you carry the colors into the reception & you should have no problem.

Good luck!
