My parents were separated when I was 11 and divorced when I was 15. My father and I don't really have much of a relationship anymore, and I feel like he wasn't there for me growing up so I don't want him to walk me down the aisle. In the time that he was absent his little brother, my uncle stepped in to be somewhat of a male role model in me and my sisters lives, but he was murderd two years ago, so now I'm pretty much stummped. (both of my grandfathers died too.) I was thinking about having my mom do it but that seems a little strange to me. What do you think?

I am speaking specifically about the wedding party. For instance, when the mother-of-the-bride comes down, grandmother, etc. His mom won't come. His dad is deceased and I'm not sure about whether or not his grandmother will participate. It really doesn't bother me that they are there but I just don't want to be the ***** Bride when people say, where's your husbands mom, dad, family, etc...PLEASE HELP!

I see nightmares of everything going wrong and my boyfriend thinks I'm exaggrating this.I can' sleep properly so I'm very tired during the day.and when I get soothing medicine I get too sleepy.Does anyone know a way for me to calm down?

Yes, we're starting the ideas rolling already, as we're getting married! He got me a small 1/4 carat ring to wear while we run around & pick out the real rock - 1 Carat (lol).. I plan to keep the little one to give to our Daughter(AFTER we have one!).
Anyhow, my real query is this: I am paying for the Wedding, & my hubby-to-be's ring. *My Dad set me up with a $10K Dowry a few years ago for my wedding. HIS parents are expected to pay for the Honeymoon, by tradition. If we're spending $10K on the wedding, what is an appropriate Honeymoon budget? (He already wants to do a week in Hawaii, + a week in Australia or New Zealand.) I come from an upper middle class family, as does he. Him & his father own & run their own large construction business, so money is not quite the issue. But I want to know that I am not overstepping my bounds? (though HE is the one picking the honeymoon lol) I was thinking that no more than $2,500 or $3,000 should we be asking them to spend, if that! Any ideas?

So my live in boyfriend of two years was invited to his best friend from college's wedding. When he got the save the date card, I took the time off from work and opted not to sign up for a class that if I took, it would raise my salary 10k a year... something I really needed. But this wedding is very important to my boyfriend, so I didn't sign up. We got the invite and my name wasn't on it, nor was and guest. He won't call his friend and ask her about it because she has the bar exam coming up, but part of me thinks he's embarassed b/c he's the type of guy that you could work w/ for 20yrs and not know he's married with children b/c it didn't come up... and he hasn't talked with this friend in a while and I honestly don't think she knows about me. I'm pissed because I didn't sign up for the class, loosing out on 10k. She is very wealthy (she's spend over 100k on her wedding already), is it rude to send back the card with 2 guests?

well we meet a long time ago, but he lives on the other side of the world. I Love Him and I know he Loves me as we spend every mintue talking and laughing.
