My daughter is getting married next week. Traditionally, the wedding cake ribbon charms are pulled by unmarried ladies. Most of her family and friends who are unmarried are engaged and so she asked me what I thought. I said I did not know.

My boyfriend is the best man, but we are all recent college graduates. We also have to travel and stay the weekend. I've looked at the registry and the prices vary, so we really can spend as much as we want - but we don't know how much is appropriate.

My close friend just announced that she is getting married to a man 4 years older than her that she just met a few months ago. She is only 18 and just starting her senior year in High School. Do you think she should be getting married and if not, how would you tell her if she was your friend?

I'm planning my wedding for next year and I'm looking for the phone # to the hotel so I can check the rates and other details for out of town guest accomodations. I can't find the phone number anywhere and I would like to enclose hotel information in my save the date cards or invitations. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

"A Perfect 'Pair'" with green pears as the main decorative theme - is this overdone and/or silly?

It goes well with my colors, which are pink, green and white. Here's my ideas:
-The center pieces will probably be pear-shaped candles or something utilizing that idea
-The wedding favors will either be homemade canned pears or pear honey in a decorative mason jar with a tag adorned with our theme ("A perfect "pair"), our names and the wedding date.
-The wedding cake (which I am making myself because I know how to decorate cakes) will be a squared 3 tier fondant cake in pink, green and white colors, with a sugared "pair" of pears as the cake topper.
-The wedding invitations will be decorated with pears in some way or another.

Bad ideas, or no? And do you have any other ideas?

How about under water? The Oriskany was recently sunk off the coast of Pensacola Florida in the Gulf of Mexico and they're now offering weddings on the sunken ship. I think that is neat for a non-traditional wedding setting.

My wedding is in one year and its getting to be huge. The guest list gets bigger and bigger which means more money. We have changed reception places three times. Do i cut people off or spend the money. Money is not the problem, but are big weddings all that fun? Should i keep it simpilar or huge. This is my first wedding and my planner thinks that i should just except the fact i have a huge guest list. What do i do?
