Traditionally the engagement ring goes on your left ring finger. However, at the wedding, you should switch it to your right, since the wedding ring should go on the left finger first and the engagement ring can be replaced after the wedding ring.
If a woman is a widow, it should be switched. The engagement ring goes first then the wedding ring. I'm not quite sure why ...

In the US, the tradition is to wear the engagement on the right ring finger, and the wedding ring on the left. Some women wear both rings on their left hand after they get married.

You engagement ring goes on your ring finger on your left hand. When you get married, traditionally, the wedding band goes on that same finger. However you can take the engagement ring off before the ceremony if you only want to wear the wedding band.

Left hand, ring finger. Stays the same once you are married, but most people put their wedding band under their engagement ring.

You wear it on your left hand - people used to think that the vein went from your left hand (3rd finger) went straight to your heart, so it was thought to be the closest a ring could be to your heart. At the wedding ceremony most people switch it to their right hand and put their wedding band on the left hand. After the ceremony is over you can put it back on top of your wedding band. A lot of people end up getting the rings attached so they just look like one ring.

It can be worn the way you want it to. I've seen many women wear it on the left ring finger (as I did), and still do now (married now). I've seen some women wear it on the right. Its up to you where you want to wear it.
And, after you are married, do not let anyone tell you, you are wearing your rings wrong. I wear my engagement ring to the back with the wedding band in front. That is the way I like to wear mine -- too many people kept telling me I had it wrong. Oh well!
