I am from the UK work in JB and have been invited to a Chinese wedding dinner with my wife tomorrow evening. We have heard it is usual to offer a gift of money to the married couple but have no idea about this or how much would be appropriate. The couple are not close friends but we know them through drinking in a bar / restaurant where they both work.

I have 11 guys to buy gifts for, yeah big wedding party. I was looking to spend between $20-$25. One idea I had was using gift/products that already have their names or nicknames on it as part of the brand or product name. The names are Shawn, Drew, Trevor, Tori, Meiring, Dutch, Sandman, Gough, O'Hanlon, P, Bub.

She always wants to meet at her place, wants to control the remote most of the time, always picks the movie, suggests how I should dress, and won't even kiss me until I've shaved my beard and brushed my teeth in the morning. She even went as far as to tell me to shave my chest hair and to get an extra job just to earn money for a trip that she wants to take to Cabo (we just went to Mexico 2 months ago). If we marry, she wants me to sell my house, and move to her neighborhood. She said that's non-negotiable. I live in a pretty nice house in a good neighborhood. I am starting to think she's just too controlling... :(

I think it is.

It seems like this is the newest trend. (The I / Me generation I suppose)

1. If the bride sent you an invitation, surely she knows your address

2. How hard is it to sent a few dozen cards, especially when each card represents an expensive gift

3. Three weeks and still no "Thank You Card", sent. Hmmm....

Makes me want to barely give a wedding gift, if any.

I want to make sure his b'day isn't forgotten amidst all the wedding celebrations - if I could surprise him by standing up in front of all and say to him " I've done/got this for you ......................." Haven't a clue what though !

Thanks !

I love to see a man in the kilt. Think it very sexy. And yes of course I'm Scottish and female!
